Including tips for the best time to visit Anaheim

Located just outside Los Angeles, Anaheim is a city famous for its shopping, Orange County landscapes and most importantly, Disneyland.

Anaheim’s biggest attraction is by far Disneyland Resort, comprising both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Beloved cartoon characters come to life here at one of America’s most cherisehd theme parks. A magical place that has the hearts of children and adults worldwide, Disneyland offers unforgettable fun for visitors of all ages.

Shopper's will find much to love about Anaheim. Check out Center Street Promenade, a hip district filled with boutique stores, local eateries and luxurious lofts. It’s the perfect place for a little retail therapy, with plenty of jewellery, high-end fashion and chic lifestyle stores. Afterwards, be sure to check out one of the local Californian craft beer joints for a refreshing drop.

Treated by the sunny California climate, there are plenty of things to do outside in Anaheim. Featuring winding lanes that loop around four lakes, Yorba Regional Park is perfect for cyclists. Elsewhere, hikers will love the sweeping views of the scenic woodland at the Oak Canyon Nature Center.

We only went to Disneyland.

22 April 2024

We only went to Disneyland. The Riviera Hotel was about a 3/4 mile walk from the security gates at Disneyland/California Adventure. That is a bit of a walk but closer hotels cost much more. For a place to sleep and shower, the Riviera was a good value.

Very nice to walk around to the restaurants that are around, felt very safe :) The options to eat were good, however they do close early some but the Cheese Cake Factory is definitely a must!!! so good :)

Anaheim is geared towards mass tourism for Disney.

Anaheim is geared towards mass tourism for Disney. Hotels, restaurants, and transport are all set up to facilitate the thousands of people going to Disneyland and Disney Resort. Anaheim Regional Transportation buses run all day and are very cheap. But you must be able to download the Awaywego App onto your phone.

We only visited Disneyland while we were in Anaheim so I cannot comment too much about the area. There is a Costco in Fullerton, nearby, with gas, and that was convenient since we drove from Las Vegas.

Anaheim offers a delightful blend of attractions beyond the renowned Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. While these theme parks often steal the spotlight, the city boasts inviting parks ideal for leisurely strolls and easy access to picturesque beaches, perfect for invigorating runs. On this visit, my culinary adventures led me to explore the city's diverse dining scene, particularly its vibrant taco culture. Among the numerous options sampled, Tacos Los Cholos stood out, delivering an authentic and memorable taste experience. Beyond its iconic attractions, Anaheim reveals itself as a multifaceted destination, inviting exploration and discovery beyond the typical tourist hotspots.

It was just a 4.

22 January 2024

It was just a 4.2 mile drive from the Days Inn to the five-story parking lot at Disneyland for day pass holders, which offers a comfortable train-like shuttle, both arriving and departing, between the parking structure and Disneyland's front gate. We also enjoyed dining at the "Bubba Gump Shrimp Company" restaurant, at 321W. Katella Ave., Suite 101, Anaheim, CA 92802. Located about a half-mile from Disneyland, it's got great, moderately-priced seafood, and burgers, etc., especially if you get a bowl of Gumbo. And, there are cool pix on the walls from the famous movie, Forest Gump, that it was designed to mimic. And friendly waiters too!
