Renowned for its live music scene, scrumptious food and entertainment options, Austin is a tourism hotspot in the state of Texas. Parks and natural attractions add another layer of charm to the vibe of this beautiful city.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find the time to do everything that the state capital of Texas has to offer. Head to the Capitol Building in the downtown area for a peek into the political side of Austin through a self-guided tour of its grounds. For a dose of adventure, you can visit the Circuit of the Americas to watch Formula One or MotoGP races, concerts and more. If you're looking for a spot to spend a quiet day in verdant surroundings, make your way to Zilker Metropolitan Park, home to Barton Springs Pool – a massive swimming pool fed by natural underground springs.
Known as the ‘live music capital of the world’, Austin is packed with clubs and bars entertaining patrons with blues, jazz, hip-hop and a variety of other forms of music. Pop into The Broken Spoke for a Texas two-step dance lesson or to catch a classic country music performance. On the other side of the Colorado River, you’ll find Antone's Nightclub, where blues tunes can be enjoyed every night. Barbarella – located just a block away – is where you can dance to songs from the 1980s until today. The Continental Club and The Little Longhorn Saloon are other popular live music venues in Austin.

Austin is a vibrant city with an eclectic mixture of old and new. It has a vibrancy that only comes from a city on the move! You can still get plenty of authentic Texas bbq and tex mex fare as well as other good restaurants. Public transport is excellent and easy and inexpensive to use.
The airport is not a pleasant one.

The airport is not a pleasant one. I hope I never have to return to Austin. The place is not comfortable. They don't have sleep pods or Minute Suites. The baggage claim disorganization is almost as bad as Miami and they aren't as big or busy as an excuse.
Modern, friendly city.

Modern, friendly city. Generally clean with lovely green spaces. Not a lot of historical interest so better for short visits. Some areas a bit seedy & too much emphasis on it being a great place for music - most of what we heard was poor ! We found food & drinks surprisingly expensive.
Austin is a great town.

Austin is a great town. There are tons of great restaurants, shops, parks, outdoor activities, bars and dance clubs. Everything was within walking distance or a short uber/Lyft drive away. I would highly recommend visiting Austin. But, probably not in the summer :|

Austin was an unexpectedly beautiful and pleasant city. Walkable parks and downtown. The Capitol is beautiful and UT campus is really nice.Lots to see and visit. Many great restaurants and, of course, music venues. The neighborhoods are beautiful, especially around SoCo (but I wouldn't be able to buy a house there).

This city is much larger than I expected and is growing rapidly. There are wonderful things to see and do and the people are wonderful. We took an hour long river boat ride where the skyline and 'lake' was explained. We went to live music at the smaller stage at the ACL. We took a 3 hour long tour of haunted sites. We were there for the eclipse but we drove out of the city to the Hill Country outside of Austin which was delightful. Unfortunately the transportation infrastructure in Austin is just not able to accommodate all that growth so traffic is quite a problem and there is almost no public transportation.
