Las Vegas Strip
In the city centre
Need an energy drink? Take a sip of the Strip instead. A non-stop street of decadence, indulgence, and imbibe, this hub is why they dub Vegas the Entertainment Capital of the World. Don your dancing shoes at The Cosmopolitan clubs, splash cash on the tables at Caesars Palace, and feast on Michelin star dining. Do it all in a day if you dare.

Modern design sits aside yesterday’s glamour in Downtown Las Vegas. Wander the city’s first casinos at the Fremont Street Experience and get courted by the glittering lights. Awash with bright lights and neon signs, Las Vegas is a city of fun, freedom and fabulousness – as its iconic welcome sign promises.
Most of the Sin City’s action is concentrated in the Las Vegas Strip – a stretch of road lined with upscale casinos, Michelin-starred restaurants and legendary hotels. You can try your luck at the fabled casinos or check out a show from Vegas’ enviable lineup – from enchanting Cirque du Soleil acts to top musicians performing at its pulsing clubs.
Vegas resorts are designed as entire worlds of their own, complete with casinos, restaurants, spas, shopping centres and activities unique to their theme. Take a gondola ride on the canals of the Venetian, live like Roman royalty at Caesars Palace or experience mythical Egyptian grandeur at the Luxor Hotel. While it’s tempting to spend the entire holiday exploring your resort, make some time for Bellagio’s dancing fountains and botanical gardens, and head to the Neon Museum for an artsy display of retro signage lit up anew. A spin on the 550-feet tall High Roller will give you a glimpse of the world’s wonders, with replicas of the Eiffel Tower, the Giza Pyramid and New York’s skyline dotting the glittering city below.
A fluorescent oasis amidst the Mojave Desert, Vegas is surrounded by mountains and dramatic landscapes offering exhilarating activities and stunning views. Hike up Mount Charleston, zipline over the Bootleg Canyon or simply drive through Red Rock Canyon for a respite from the city’s heady energy.

One of the most expensive places to go I can think of.
6 May 2024
One of the most expensive places to go I can think of. Do not underestimate the cost of this place, everything is overpriced and everyone wants a TIP for providing a basic service which they are already paid for. Stray off the strip and its awful, druggies, tramps & lowlifes everywhere. The smell of Cannabis is everywhere. The size of the city makes walking in the furnace like heat a real hastle and the construction everywhere makes a short taxi ride very long and expensive. Casino's are full of Americas lowlife's smoking everywhere. Rude and ignorant. I've never felt so lonely with so many people around.

Used Las Vegas as the launching point of our Grand Canyon trip. A bit far from the Grand Canyon (about a 4.5 hour drive) but probably the most convenient and flexible place to fly into for such a trip. Also, very close for a Hoover Dam Visit. Didn't really spend much time in Las Vegas.
Everything is super expensive now!
4 May 2024
Everything is super expensive now! Employees at Harry Reid airport are pretty rude and not patient with people. Escalators all over town were not working, timeshare, monks, showgirls, etc. constantly harassing people. Not enough signage/information for the monorail. Aside from all of this, if you are prepared for the costs, it is a phenomenal place to visit!!!

I live 50 miles outside of Las Vegas and travel into the city for a hotel connection to and from the airport. As such I see it as a local would. Las Vegas is a great town to vacation in as well as a connecting travel hub to anywhere in the beautiful Southern Nevada area. Visitors, please schedule adequate time to visit and recreate in our eye popping beautiful Red Rock Natural Conservation Area and the VERY nearby and easily accessible Mt. Charleston for year round fun. Drive a little to see huge Ponderosa and Bristlecone pine trees, hiking, picnic spots, camping, a ski resort, and wild horses grazing in Lee Meadows!

Shop around for cheaper resort fees and see what you really get for the money. Also make sure you get a place that gives you an option to waive parking fees if you don't have a car . Hash House a Go Go at the Linc awesome but be sure and share a plate of food.
