Historical landmarks, modern attractions and cultural offerings are just a few of the many reasons that make San Antonio a popular place to visit in Texas, USA.
San Antonio is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, The Alamo and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. At The Alamo – a former Spanish mission and the site of a historic battle in 1836 – you can learn about the history of Texas Revolution through interactive displays and guided tours. San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is spread across a large area that comprises four missions established by Spanish Catholic priests in the 18th century. Four out of the five original missions still remain and you can explore their churches, compounds and other structures.
On your San Antonio holiday, set aside some time to visit the River Walk. This famous promenade along the San Antonio River is lined with shops, restaurants, museums and scenic nature spots. Just a short distance away is Hemisfair Park that offers a range of things to do – recreation areas, dining and entertainment options, Yanaguana Garden and the Tower of the Americas, which provides panoramic city views. You can also embark on unique tours across the city like ghost and street art tours and cruises on the San Antonio River.
There are several theme parks to choose from in San Antonio. SeaWorld San Antonio has adventurous rides and live shows while Six Flags Fiesta Texas offers fast roller coasters. LEGOLAND Discovery Center San Antonio is worth a visit too.

The River Walk was beautiful. We took the river boat ride and enjoyed the scenery and history along the way. We also visited The Alamo which was also interesting and informative. The audio tour was good but a guided tour would have been even better. The area we did not visit which I would have liked to was The Pearl district.
I was pleasantly surprised as to how quiet the town is. Yet it was an absolute joy to have visited. The people, phew, very welcoming. I definitely recommend the river walk guided tour at the start of your visit and sea world if it’s open
I booked a room that had a balcony. I ordered the room specifically because it had a balcony & to my knowledge it showed that there was 1 room left with the balcony & I booked it. At the time of my arrival I was told there were no rooms available left with a balcony & I had to settle for a different room & the room I had didn’t have any working outlets so I woke up to my phone being on 10%. I was given a TOTAL amount due once I switched rooms & then when I got my receipt it was a lot more than it should have been. When I approached the situation I was told taxes & fees were applied. I feel the location should specify that taxes & fees aren’t included until the total provided. Because when you specify a total that’s what people go off of. Other than the inconveniences, the room was nice & comfortable. It just wasn’t what I intended for my stay. My overall experience was okay but I will not book here again due to all of the inconveniences.
Used to live in San Antonio - its a great place for girls trip, husband/wife trip, and/or family vacation. Sporting events, Riverwalk, lots of restaurants (including German food), sightseeing areas, and evening events if you like to stay up late.
The price was the only thing that I liked about the hotel. The front desk lady booked us into a room that has several men living in the hotel room. When I went to the front desk she said she made a simple mistake and changed us to another room. That room was very dirty the floors had not been swept and mopped in weeks the sheets had crumbs on them despite the beds being made. The bathtub was sunk into the floor due to partially rotted floors. I wouldn’t have stayed had I not been in the desperate situation I was in. I was probably safer in my car.
The river walk was great but the temperature and weather made it difficult for us to enjoy our trip. Visited the Towers of Americas and enjoyed the movie (were shown only 3D instead of the 4D). The Alamo site was a good place to visit as well. The Cavern was an additional cost for two, but it was good especially with the holidays lights and chants.
