La Grande Villa, villa in Nuwara Eliya

The units at the villa complex are equipped with a seating area, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a safety deposit box and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, bathrobes and slippers. A patio with an outdoor dining area and mountain views is offered in each unit. At the villa complex, each unit is equipped with bed linen and towels.

Everything here is perfect, it was quite possibly the best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka and that includes places like the Heritance Kandalama which was dramatically more expensive. The property: Perfectly manicured and beautiful gardens with flowers everywhere. The building is beautiful with detailed wood finishing on all surfaces except the floor which is covered in beautiful plush carpeting which contributes to reduced noise from people walking around. All guests and staff remove their shoes and wear provided slippers around the property to ensure the floors are nice and clean. There’s also a pool table in the lobby. The room: A+ comfortable bed with down duvet, crisp sheets and more pillows than Martha Stewart would have on her bed - with a variety of thickness and firmness so anyone’s preference will be met. Super clean from top to bottom, excellent bathroom and shower with stone finishing and a jacuzzi tub which we used and it worked well. Television with Comedy Central so that made me happy at night. Clean glasses, coffee, tea, and one of the few rooms in Sri Lanka with a working refrigerator that had a small freezer for ice which was readily available from the hotel. Breakfast: We had the western and it was fantastic. I’m sure the Sri Lankan breakfast would be even better. Too much food though. Location: walking distance to the town center but far enough that it was very quiet at night and minimal tuktuk noise in the morning. Staff: attentive, kind, service oriented and professional - we have found this to be standard throughout Sri Lanka but it was even better here.

    Our one luxury stay on our Sri Lanka trip. We were pleased we stayed here, rather than the Hill Club or the Grand Hotel, as we still got to visit those for drinks and afternoon tea, but also enjoyed the stroll through the gardens to get from LA Grande Villa to the other hotels. Enjoyed playing pool in the evening at LA Grande Villa. Rooms were excellent.

    A superb stay in Atulya Villas, Nuwara Eliya. Rooms were fantastic but for traffic noise which can be sorted out by installing sound proof glass. Location excellent . Food was outstanding with brilliant service by Bino and Sajith. Highly recommended.

    Everything. The villas were well furnished and done up very aesthetically. I am a big coffee lover and finding a drip coffee machine and coffee powder in the villa was the best part for me. Great views, very comfortable. We were very happy with our stay here. The caretaker Amal was very helpful and friendly.

    We had a lovely stay at Atulya Villas. Our room was very large and comfy with a big balcony and a beautifully designed bathroom. Staff was perhaps a bit inexperienced, but made more than up for it with their kindness and helpfulness. They set us up with a very nice tuktuk driver who took us to the city centre several times and also on a trip to one of the tea factories. Breakfast was delicious.
