Campanile Swindon, hotel in Cricklade

Just 5 minutes from junction 16 of the M4 motorway, the Campanile Swindon Hotel offers free on-site parking and en suite rooms with bright, modern décor and satellite TV.

I booked two twin rooms at Campanile Swindon through Booking.com on behalf of three men who were there for business overnight stays. They are poor rooms for twin rooms. There is no room for two single men to move around and sleep let alone unpack. No hot water for the shower on first night, I was told they should have complained but with what they had, they left it for me to sort the next morning, so I was complaining instead on Tuesday at 9.46 am. then chased again, when the manager rang me back he said he was on out of the hotel and he had been asked to call me 45 minutes before which was at the time of my second call, what happened to the first call at 9.46 am he was going to call me back. I could not leave the men as they were. The manager sorted out new rooms, which I would like to say he is very good to the point I would say a credit to the company nothing else is. It is false advertising of rooms; the pictures do not give a true picture of the rooms you provide. The lads sent me photos of the room they were staying in. BAD. SMALL. The running shower was cold on the first night as I explained. Your photos on the site make the room look bright and airy but in fact they are bad, no room at all and dull and uninviting.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this excellent hotel and we couldn't be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and impeccable service. The quality of the facilities is truly exceptional; from the comfort of the rooms to the breathtaking views they offer. The indoor pool and sauna are perfect for relaxing after a day of exploration, and the restaurant offers a sublime culinary experience. Every dish was a delight to the senses, and the attention to detail in presentation and flavor was simply spectacular. Without a doubt, this hotel exceeded all our expectations and has become our favorite place to stay. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in a setting of luxury and comfort.

Cricklade Village very close to the hotel.

Cricklade Village very close to the hotel. We ate at The Red Lion (need to book online) and the food was home cooked and very tasty and not badly priced at all. Cosy fire too which is always a welcome sight in the Winter months. We based ourselves here so that we could cycle the back lanes and we travelled through wonderful small villages and hamlets. Stopped off in Cirencester for coffee stop, looks an amazing town and wished I could have mooched around the many shops (bikes prevented this). All in all a great two night stay in the area.

    Cricklade is an interesting town.

Cricklade is an interesting town. I was there to sing in the church, which as a huge tower for such a small building. Shops ... well, not a huge choice. But it's a good starting point for other places, with fast access to the motorway network.

The hotel is tired, dirty and run on a shoestring and vastly overpriced, I dare not use the spa after experiencing the poor level of cleanliness in my room and elsewhere. Male receptionist needs to change his career away from customer facing. The restaurant staff were all helpful and jovial and the view from the restaurant was stunning. They desperately need to get help and investment into this property or it will close.

Cricklade is a small town and is the first the River Thames passes through from source. On the very edge of the Cotswaolds it has chsaracter. There is a Thai restaurant 'Jicsaw' that is truly outstanding, try it if you can get in.

Great spa facilities and clean and modern changing rooms.

Great spa facilities and clean and modern changing rooms. Views from restaurant were good. The room had a musty smell, there were squashed flies on the roller blinds, very tired and damaged pine furniture, no door knob on the wardrobe, discoloured and broken toilet seat, vanity mirror tilted backwards, duvet was too small for the bed. No curtains or soft furnishings and the decor was not tasteful or attractive. The restaurant menu was very limited (5 mains and 3 desserts ) and no fresh vegetables!

Management was proactive in communication before and after our stay. The room, although small, was very clean, as was the bathroom. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. The room was a bit stuffy but we could open our window. Our friends could not and had a fan so rooms might get warm in summer. The cost was quite reasonable. The TV was the largest we encountered in several hotels. The location was very good.

We loved the town of Cricklade and our wonderful stay at the White Hart Hotel. We were able to get two nights on a busy holiday weekend off the beaten path in the Cotswolds and were very glad we stayed. The staff and room were both fabulous. We recommend the hotel highly.

Nice location and great parking to the rear of the pub. It was good that the room had its own “front door” access. Room was very clean and super cosy! I loved the homely decor because it made it feel as if I was staying in someone’s home and not a hotel.
