Far away from any city, the hotel offers large rooms, an onsen, a golf... I was lucky to have a balcony overlooking the golf, and the view was both peaceful and beautiful. Sherry on the cake: the breakfast is good and good value for money.

The hotel room has a magnificent view. We can see the grass field and sunrise in the morning. The hotel room is excellent, neat, clean, comfortable and tidy. The staff was nice and helpful. We went for the horse riding tour the other day and the staff were happy to explain the horses to us.

Great views. Great trip. Only disappointment is the blue "lake" in Nakadake Crater. All the pictures show the "lake" while to my understanding it was destroyed during the 2016 earthquake. It was what drawn my attention to this location to begin with, so it was disappointing not seeing it. Unfortunately access to the crater is still prohibited due to the risk of toxic gases, but the surrounding area is impressive. For those keen on a hard nature walk you can walk up the steep trail of the neighbouring peak and look down into the crater from there. Allow a good half a day or more to do this!

An excellent self-catering kitchen and a private room with a Queen bed delivered us comfort for our visit to Mt Aso. The staff were particularly helpful and spoke good English which was an advantage to us. Less expensive than a hotel but with more amenity for us with the opportunity to converse with fellow travellers, this was the perfect place for us to stay.

She gave us so many tips for hiking in the area. Thanks to her we discovered a wonderful trail up Mount Aso that goes through cows' and horses' fields and were able to see this amazing crater. The house was very clean and spacious, and we really loved the interior decoration.

There is also a view from the room looking at the volcano. Very clean and comfy. Not far from the volcano and it is just next to the train station. The hotel does not have a restaurant (which they warn you in their info / email) but they offer free coffee/ tea and miso soup.
