Very nice location. We enjoyed the vibe.
Gavin was present and his friend/staff helped us to check-in with additional help with our luggage etc.
Water pressure was great and fast internet.
Communication was fast and efficient.
Outside patio with the custom made braai, table etc was nice.

Oude Compagnies Post is outstanding and the cherry on the cake. Definitely the highlight of our visit to Tulbagh, excellent wine and a knowledgeable, educated and well informed host. Not to be missed.
Daphne is also highly recommended as our restaurant of choice.
A beautiful hiking route with a swimming pool, which is shallow enough for non swimmers is also available on Oude Compagnies Post.

We arrived on Good Friday of the Easter weekend and settled into our accommodation at Eikelaan Farm Cottages. Saturday was spent getting to know the history of Tulbagh at the Earthquake museum, old church & cemetery, and wandering down Church street admiring the restored old buildings. Rijk’s Wine estate just outside of town for lunch, and Daphne’s for dinner. Sunday we enjoyed lunch at The Tulbagh Boutique Hotel at their Olive Bistro restaurant. Great food & wine.

We loved the wine farms and visited several. The Valentine's Day dinner at Manley wine estate was excellent and the Tulbagh Hotel dinner was very good.
The museums in the historic street are really interesting
It is an easy area to get around, albeit always by car.
We would avoid staying in such rustic accommodation and choose a wine farm instead

Could have stayed for a week instead of a weekend. Fabulous staff at the Cape Dutch Quarter Hotel, such an eclectic mix of Georgian & old Cape Dutch buildings .....all connected by peaceful gardens & even a lovely pool. Our room was self catering but with so many great eateries/vineyards we didn't bother cooking ourselves!!!! Highly recommend

We expected to browse around small shops, but there were none. The most exciting shop was a Second hand store. Beautiful buildings, but that's about it. We went on a Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe weekends are better? Went to Saronsberg Winery, which was lovely. Perhaps to venture outside Tulbach is the way to go.

There are a lot to do in and around Tulbagh.
There are a lot to do in and around Tulbagh. There is a variety of restaurant offerings and a rich heritage in the town that is celebrated. The Tulbagh Hotel is great for staying or to grab something to eat.
The spacious room with terrasse and the Spa bath! We enjoyed the amenities in the bathroom and the barbecue. There is a fridge and tea/coffee station with plenty of tea and coffee! The pool is of good size.
We stayed 2 nights and.wished we could have stayed an extra night!
Please note that almost everything in Tulbagh closes at 14h on Saturday.. a few wine estates close at 16h and almost nothing is open on Sundays... do your homework before you arrive!
It is a beautiful property with some amazing historical pieces. The furniture and decor are beautiful and well preserved. The property is well located and Tulbagh is a very interesting little town with a lot of history. There is a lot to do. The owner of the hotel has gone to great lengths to provide a lot of interesting information about the history and the architecture of the surrounding buildings.
Location was amazing, beautiful views, sunrise and sunsets are gorgeous, it's right in the heart of wine farms.
The room was spacious, with enough light into it and not stuffy at all.
Bed was big and comfortable, room was fairly clean, bathroom is big with shower and bath
They also have a electricity backup so you are never without power during loadshedding/power failures
The management and staff at the hotel was excellent. Extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, and we ate both nights at the restaurant as they had a great menu to choose from. We stayed in the Saronsberg Suite which was very spacious, bed comfortable and a huge bathroom. Location of the hotel is great, as it is at the most 7km from all the nearest wine farms.
We loved chilling on the deck overlooking mountains, zebra and buck, while snacking on the cheese platter delivered to us and drinking wine from the local wine farms. The staff at Reception and at the Spa were super helpful with recommendations on where to go for breakfast and where to watch the rugby. Enjoyed the easy access to Spa facilities, and divine massage!
The location is perfect as usual...we've loved coming here over the years. The kids love the open space & the sheep & just exploring the farm. The cottage has everything we needed and was a lovely home away from home. We loved that we didn't have to experience loadshedding while we were on holiday as they have a backup generator :-) That was absolute magic :-)
Location was absolutely breathtaking! The room was fully equipped with cooking utensils, everything needed for a braai (matches, firelighters, wood and a grid), they accommodated for loadshedding, wifi was working well, the room and bathroom was beautiful! Had a lovely stay and would recommend it to everyone passing through Tulbagh.
Set on the beautiful Montpellier wine farm just outside Tulbagh. Whilst you can go to town and explore, we preferred to stay on the farm and sit at the restaurant and enjoy the wine and pizza whilst the kids played in the garden! Loved that it was super pet friendly. Our dog may have enjoyed it more than us
I. Cannot rate the hotel as i was unabke to stay there due to the condition of the drivewayI was unable to spend the nite as the driveway was not passable on my motorcycle without the risk of dropping it in the soft sand...the drive was not graded as the road was
A gem of a hotel with over 200 years of history and within walking distance of everything you need in the heart of Tulbagh. Breakfast was home cooked and lovely. Our room was fairly basic but very comfortable, well heated and more than adequate for our weekend.
Everything - the quietness, the scenery, the hosts, accommodation. We are looking forward to Tulbagh again and most definitely coming back to Fraaigelegen Farm! We absolutely loved our stay there - definitely staying longer at the farm next time.
We liked everything, from the attitude and friendliness of the very helpful staff, the quality of the food on offer, the cleanliness of the whole place, to the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. Our stay was very pleasant indeed.
Beautiful farm in a beautiful setting. Lovely friendly hosts. The bird life is incredible. They have lovely walks around the farm and we fell in love with the place.
What spoilt our lovely stay was the condition of the bed.
Our guests were so happy.. Attention to detail was a major thing that stood out and the stunning cottages with everything you could ask for.. The owners and managers passion for the farm and cottages just shows!
The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed for a self catering unit. Stunning views and great area for a gentle stroll around the farms. Very peaceful.
Everything about greenhouse accommodation was perfect I will definitely go again. My toddler enjoyed the play area alot. This is a fully equipped self catering house. It was worth the money. Thank you
We booked because it was pet friendly and in tulbagh with a pool. There was indeed a pool but it was not suitable for swimming it was murky green and dirty.
