Oude Compagnies Post is outstanding and the cherry on the cake. Definitely the highlight of our visit to Tulbagh, excellent wine and a knowledgeable, educated and well informed host. Not to be missed. Daphne is also highly recommended as our restaurant of choice. A beautiful hiking route with a swimming pool, which is shallow enough for non swimmers is also available on Oude Compagnies Post.

We arrived on Good Friday of the Easter weekend and settled into our accommodation at Eikelaan Farm Cottages. Saturday was spent getting to know the history of Tulbagh at the Earthquake museum, old church & cemetery, and wandering down Church street admiring the restored old buildings. Rijk’s Wine estate just outside of town for lunch, and Daphne’s for dinner. Sunday we enjoyed lunch at The Tulbagh Boutique Hotel at their Olive Bistro restaurant. Great food & wine.

We loved the wine farms and visited several. The Valentine's Day dinner at Manley wine estate was excellent and the Tulbagh Hotel dinner was very good. The museums in the historic street are really interesting It is an easy area to get around, albeit always by car. We would avoid staying in such rustic accommodation and choose a wine farm instead

Could have stayed for a week instead of a weekend. Fabulous staff at the Cape Dutch Quarter Hotel, such an eclectic mix of Georgian & old Cape Dutch buildings .....all connected by peaceful gardens & even a lovely pool. Our room was self catering but with so many great eateries/vineyards we didn't bother cooking ourselves!!!! Highly recommend

We expected to browse around small shops, but there were none. The most exciting shop was a Second hand store. Beautiful buildings, but that's about it. We went on a Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe weekends are better? Went to Saronsberg Winery, which was lovely. Perhaps to venture outside Tulbach is the way to go.

We booked a couple nights as we needed a location near to a venue for family friends wedding. The pricing was incredibly reasonable for the time of year and when we we arrived we were blown away by how stunning the house really was. Everything was spick and span, there were complementary fruit and eggs etc as it is located on a working farm. Furthermore our hosts were very gracious and welcoming. I would highly recommend L'Bloom to anyone looking for accomodation in Tulbagh

The spacious room with terrasse and the Spa bath! We enjoyed the amenities in the bathroom and the barbecue. There is a fridge and tea/coffee station with plenty of tea and coffee! The pool is of good size. We stayed 2 nights and.wished we could have stayed an extra night! Please note that almost everything in Tulbagh closes at 14h on Saturday.. a few wine estates close at 16h and almost nothing is open on Sundays... do your homework before you arrive!

The beautifully high thatched roof bungalow was lovely and cool inside and we loved the stunning mountain views and the peace and quiet of the place. It had a beautiful big bathroom and main bedroom and we loved the African decor. It was lovely to stay on a working wine farm, where we were offered a free wine tasting, a free bottle of wine and the winemaker Andri gave us a tour of the cellar , sharing her passion for wine.

The location is lovely, out of town in the countryside and really well maintained for such a massive area. The hotel is quirky and super cool and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a delicious curry dinner cooked by chef Marvin who came out of the kitchen to ask if we were enjoying our meal. Breakfast the next morning was also great. The hotel is pet friendly, so that made a big difference for us.

It is a beautiful property with some amazing historical pieces. The furniture and decor are beautiful and well preserved. The property is well located and Tulbagh is a very interesting little town with a lot of history. There is a lot to do. The owner of the hotel has gone to great lengths to provide a lot of interesting information about the history and the architecture of the surrounding buildings.

From the moment we arrived till we left the staff and facilities were exceptional. We had booked two rooms as we were attending a family wedding in the area and the extra effort did not go un-noticed like the turned down sheet and a chocolate on your pillow :) ready for the evening. Don't forget the wine selection on site. This Hotel is a gem along with all the staff and they do Tulbagh proud !

Loved the peaceful setting while having Obiqua on our doorstep to have a meal, a drink or just a seat amongst some locals The positioning of the farm is perfect if you want to experience some world class wine farms, mountains to get up close and in the snow.. The staff just made the stay unbelievable, they would go to the moon and back to ensure we were comfortable and happy

The location is perfect as usual...we've loved coming here over the years. The kids love the open space & the sheep & just exploring the farm. The cottage has everything we needed and was a lovely home away from home. We loved that we didn't have to experience loadshedding while we were on holiday as they have a backup generator :-) That was absolute magic :-)

This is the best place to stay in Tulbagh. We have stayed at a few and this is our favourite! The mountain views are amazing, the house was so lovely. Everything was clean and neat. The people are so very kind and just so friendly. There is a hike you can do but even just walking around the farm is lovely. I will 100% stay here again! Highly recommend it!
