Easy access, good parking, friendly staff, cafe on site plus breakfast is available in the main dining area if you want to buy. Ideal for a family group. Rooms have beds only, but very comfortable and with pillow and duvet. Plenty to do in the area around and near enough to walk to shops, pubs and cafes if you want. Good value for money and everything you need in the self catering area with fridges and cooking gear.

Wonderful carefully retored thatched cottage in pretty historic village. Comfortable bedroom (one of two in the B&B), with good modern ensuite. Welcoming hosts, who gave us an excellent traditional Devon pub evening meal suggestion. Good breakfast in large pleasant dining room. Highly recommend.

Most picturesque Inn surrounded by a wonderful lush garden with a stream running through. Lovely lawned area with deckchairs and huge patio so perfect for those guests with dogs. Such a warm welcome from Simon and his team on arrival. Room was spotlessly clean spacious and such a comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom too. Had dinner here both nights and both meals superb recommend the pinwheel sausages and the fish and chips. Simon is a great host and gave great advice on choice of options. Breakfast hamper was also plentiful with the best warm croissants and worth the extra to include breakfast. A relaxed atmosphere in the inn where nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend and such a good price too
I loved the three rooms that made up this overnight stay.
I loved the three rooms that made up this overnight stay. The fridge was a massive bonus. Very comfortable and carefully decorated. The surrounding countryside was beautiful. Loved watching the cows in the morning just outside the property!

The town itself didnt seem to have alot going for it.
The town itself didnt seem to have alot going for it. Most shops were shut and the food options were poor. I stood at the bar at the Fountain Inn for 10 minutes waiting for a staff member to appear and no one did.

Okehampton was a cosy little place.
Okehampton was a cosy little place. The people seem exceptionally friendly.
Ma'ida was a good meal and you can bring your own booze from the nearby Lidl... if you're exceptionally stylish, like what we are.

Okehampton is typical of most small market towns, there are a couple of nice pubs, not many places to eat except the two pubs and takeaways. The Town Hall, opposite the White Hart, is a beautiful building, there are some pleasant walks around Simmons Park and the Castle is worth a visit. The railway has reopened with trains running to Exeter which is fantastic, although when we went, the train we were going to come back on was cancelled, which was annoying when there is only one an hour.

We picked up a local leaflet for Okehampton from our hotel, which gave an enjoyable walk around the main points of the town and brief details of some history. There are numerous coffee shops, hotels and other places for a coffee and/or snack. Lots of independent shops in the little arcades and along the high street.
We got the warmest of welcomes from Natasha when we got to the Seven Stars, with a cup of tea on arrival.
Our room was small, but with everything we needed and very clean and newly decorated.
Both Natasha and Colin were attentive hosts, clearly very proud of their B&B, which they have renovated from scratch.
We had a lovely supper, with a roaring log fire going in the dining area.
Breakfast was just as good.
The village and church were lovely.
All of it. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and well maintained. Bathroom had a large modern shower and was equally spacious. Likewise the dining room was well decorated and maintained and the cooked breakfasts were spot on. I would thoroughly recommend this guest house and would be my first place to check if/when I next visit Okehampton. Thank you for you lovely service and welcome.
The cottage was immaculate and well equipped with everything that we needed. Ginny was very welcoming and helpful. The garden was stunning and all in all a really beautiful place to stay with a local pub just down the road with great food. Great location for exploring Dartmoor and other local towns and villages in Devon and Cornwall. Thanks very much again, we will be back x
The low cost was excellent value for a family of 5 sharing. Glad we had our own en-suite and that we took a kettle and 4-way adaptor for our room having read other reviews. We used the centre as a base and were out visiting Cornwall and Devon attractions through the week.
we were pleased with our stay and would definitely consider a YHA again for a cheap family holiday.
Don't let the outside of the property put you. Room really large and spacious and very clean. Could have done with a hairdryer in the room.
Charlie the landlord very welcoming as was all the staff
Self service breakfast worked very well for us.
They even gave us an outer door key as we would be back after pub had shut.
Would certainly stay again if back in Devon.
Good location and good pub food. The room was really nice and toilet looked brand new. Bath tub and separate walk in shower. Amazing overnight stay and would recommend anytime. Staff were really helpful too. Out of 3 night stay in Devon this was the best hotel. Stayed one night in Torquay beach front and was not as good as the White Hart Hotel. Very good stay overall.
Wonderful spacious house in a quiet, peaceful location on the north edge of Dartmoor National Park. Large well equipped kitchen and dining area, large living room with big comfortable sofa. Walking paths into the park minutes from your door, big grassy back yard great for kids or an outdoor meal. A little off the beaten path, but an excellent value.
Mary was attentive without being intrusive .
Loved the home made fresh bread that accompanied the delicious full English breakfast.
Room was extremely clean and comfortable, couldn't fault our stay , perfect place to rest up after touring Devon and Cornwall.
The Tors is in a delightful village right on Dartmoor, and has been beautifully refurbished in the last 2 years. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. The owner of the pub is delightful -- gracious, smart, and a font of knowledge about the area.
Knole farm is on the outskirts of a Devon village, very quiet, beautiful views from the garden. We were welcomed warmly by the host, had a very comfortable room and enjoyed an excellent breakfast! Would definitely return!
Breakfasts were very good served by friendly staff. The family room was a very good size and suited our purposes very well.
The location was great and allowed us to venture out on day trips in Devon and Cornwall.
Traditional pub and hotel, right in the centre of this Devon market town. Friendly staff and decent food. We were travelling by e-bike and the hotel let us keep them overnight in their locked laundry room.
The location was perfect for exploring the whole of Devon as it was very central and close to the A30. Kelvin and Sue were great hosts, and Sue's scones were the best.
