The accommodation was top-notch, a converted barn with three first-class bedrooms and shared open plan ground floor. Superb views of river and cathedral from our bedroom. I value good, straightforward accommodation. I've spent years doing big 5 star hotels worldwide, professionally. But, I prefer intimate, unassuming, personable and different. Cafe Velo had it all. Charles, Anna and their staff make a good place to stay a great place to experience. To quote the ex-governor of California; "I'll be back".

The room was what you could call basic but exceptionally clean, warm and very well maintained. Would recommend this place to anyone. Do not expect a 5 star Hotel, breakfast is basic but ok. I have traveled on pilgrimage many times and this is very hard to better any ware.
