Downtown is a mile and a half one way and the beaches are two miles the other way. This is not your typical Holiday Inn - it is much better.

We really liked the close proximity to Old Town as we were able to walk to dinner. The free shuttle to the airport was a plus, but note that it does not go to the San Diego Zoo anymore as the description is outdated.
