I am a compassionate human being who enjoys being of service to other like-hearted people. I have been a vegan for 15 years, I believe all animals have the right to live a happy life, humans included. I am honored and very grateful to be a part of Banyan Tree Sanctuary and all that it offers. I am a musician of 65 years and a massage therapist of 36 years. I love life and all that it encompasses. i have lived on the Big Island for over 9 years, and I truly enjoy sharing it with others. I love to sing and dance, and be in Nature as much as possible.

We are a Vegan sanctuary, honoring all life, and ask that if you choose to stay with us, you abide by our philosophy, and do not bring any animal products into our community vegan kitchen. We are also at an elevation of 1100', and you must rent a car to be able to get around the island. We are 10 minutes drive from the nearest beach. If you are looking for an incredibly peaceful and healing retreat where you can experience a sustainable community and go home feeling completely revitalized, then Banyan Tree Sanctuary is your destination. Overlooking the Kailua Kona coast, you are on sacred grounds and in a perfect place for yoga, meditation and ceremony. We are a vacation rental and spiritual center, located fifteen minutes northeast of the town of Kailua Kona. We have several unique spaces, all with private baths. Our accommodations range from simple rooms with their own private bath, to a two bedroom suite with kitchenette, and exquisite west facing views of the ocean and sunsets. We have 4 rental units in all, each with unique aspects. We have a saltwater pool, ozonated chlorine-free Jacuzzi and infrared sauna. We grow 30 varieties of fruit, and share them with our guests.

The sanctuary is in a very quiet residential area; we are the last property on a one lane, mile long road. No traffic passes us, people can barely imagine how quiet this area really is. We are 3.2 acres of trees, shrubs, and flowering plants; there are properties with houses on 3 sides of us, however, they are all quite a ways away from the property borders, and a nature preserve on the west side. We are surrounded by trees on all four sides of the property, and yet we are only 12 minutes to downtown Kailua Kona, with all it's restaurants, shops, live music, and beachfront. We are in an extremely well positioned central location to most of the island. You can drive to Hilo in 90 minutes, to Hawi in an hour, to the airport in 20 minutes, to Volcano National Park in 2.5 hours. World class beaches are 30 minutes away, the best snorkeling on the island is 40 minutes away. This is a lovely and extremely safe neighborhood to take daily strolls right off our property. There are various places to hike and explore and enjoy nature just minutes away by car. Kona is known for it's world-class sunsets, and we have a 3.5 mile wide ocean view along the coast.
