The internet can be a bit unstable. It would be nice to have a desk in the room to be able to do some work on the laptop.

Spacious room and large bathroom with plenty of hot water, good AC, and excellent location in the heart of Barra. Near many restaurants, shopping, bars, and a few blocks from the beach. The continental breakfast is a nice feature with fruit, eggs, breads, jam/butter, juice and coffee. I liked the open air feeling of the breakfast room.

To be honest ...it was perfect for my needs.

The owner Marcos and the team at Estrella do Mar are very customer-focused. I had such a great time and I was very comfortable there. It is also centrally located and it is an ideal place to stay whether you want to relax in the local area or venture outwards to the surrounding towns. An added bonus is that the pousada is literally on the beach front. There is a lovely beach promenade. The beach is literally across the road. The area is safe, has many tourists but obviously one still needs to be observant and to remain vigilant. To be honest, I would only stay there. It's excellent value, breakfast is a feast and the staff are extremely helpful. Last but not least ....is the friendly and adorable puppy named Zulema. I am a cat-lover but even I bonded with Zulema (the other guests appeared to love her too). I plan to visit and stay there again soon. I would encourage you to do the same...but don't tell everyone because Pousada Estella do Mar is such a great gem... could you imagine if the whole world heard about this place... there would be no space for everyone! Fantastic value!! Check it out. You won't be sorry :-)

Our room was a bit dark because it didn’t have an outward window. Otherwise it was great.

A lovely Pousada in a great location in Salvador close to the beach. The hotel is peaceful with friendly staff and a generous breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay!

The furniture is oldie, they should refresh the room a bit and fix some details. They provide just 2 towels per host, even if I had a triple room. They don't provide any shampoo or shower gel, just small soap. There's no hair dryer. The door of the shower didn't close which was uncomfortable during the shower and leaves water to get out. The water of the shower is cold and the amount of water is not enough for a proper shower and hair wash. I expected much more, as they are recommended in Lonely planet. The personnel at the reception didn't offer help to locate myself in the area or offered extra possible info about Salvador, places to visit, restaurants for dinner.... I luckily managed very well to find everything myself.

The location is very good in a tourist friendly area, close to Praia do Farol, which is beautiful specially at sunset. The rooms are cute. The breakfast is excellent.

Incredibly noisy. (room with window to the street) There were some problems with the shower and the toilet.

Really close to the lighthouse and the ocean. A veggie restaurant on the other side of the road. Very friendly staff. Monkeys you could see from the breakfast table.
