We had a great time in Le Refuge! Great location, real close to the beach and few minutes walking to Quadrado. The host was kind and helpful and facilities very nice. The perfect location to chill around nature!

No complaints, just that we would NOT recommend the Le Refuge bistro in front of the pousada, unfortunately we had a terrible meal there and ended up leaving without even eating it!

Spacious room and lovely pool and garden area. Great breakfast spread with plenty of local delicacies to try and kitchen available to make omelettes, tapiocas and toasties on request! Location is ideal if you want a break from the quadrado and prefer to stay walking distance to the beach.

Breakfast was delicious (cold buffet plus hot food per order e.g., eggs and tapioca) Service was excellent, Jamile went above and beyond with check in and handling any requests needed (e.g., extra cups, towels, coconut water!) Pool was clean and warm, the rooms were meticulously clean and the AC worked very well. Wifi worked well (e.g., to work and to stream) Very close to the beach, really well positioned between the quandrado for restaurants, bars, shops (10 mins) and the beach (5 mins)

We would have liked some couches or comfy chairs in the breakfast area. There’s really no place to hang out in inclement weather.

The Pousada was rustic and beautiful. The rooms were charming and we really appreciated the mosquito netting over the bed. The breakfast was very good with some made to order dishes. Twominute walk to Praia dos Coqueiros!

No complaints, everything was great.

We had an amazing stay, the room was spacious, clean and the staff were able to accommodate our needs in a very fast and efficient way. Breakfast was served from 8am to 10.30am and it was delicious, lots of options! Every single person we interacted with was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Le Refuge is located minutes away walking from the beach and from the Quadrado, which is exactly where you want to be during your visit to Trancoso.

Located near a parking area, it's a bit noisy during the day. Hot shower lacks power. Limited options for breakfast - mostly sweets.

Unfortunately there were a few other guests who would allow their child to run around the property unsupervised. The child woke us up each morning with screaming, tried to throw water at us at the pool and even stuck their head into our window though the curtain that was closed, all unsupervised. It was surprising that no one did anything about this. It took away from the relaxation factor.

Aside from that, the location is great, staff is kind, rooms impeccably clean, breakfast was filling and it is truly quite an oasis.

While the location is nice during the day, at night the place is death. The village is like a 15’ walking steep uphill before you reach the border and then still 10’ to get to bars, restaurants, shops, supermarket and so. The hotel is build next to a mangrove and mosquitos are everywhere, make sure you have a good repellent (or suffer…). Due to circumstances, I used 2 rooms, which was no problem. But the 1st room had a very hard bed that didnt sleep well at all. Luckily, the second room had a very comfortable bed :-)

Close to a really magnificent beach (3’ walking), with a great beach club (Uxua) immediately to the left (part of another hotel but they accept guests)
