Poor communications - I received generic promotional communications, but got no answer to my two requests for information about check-in, bag drop off and whether they issue a public transport explore card for the area. It was only when I telephoned, that I got an answer and indeed was able to check-in early. The sound insulation is very poor- I could hear everything going on in the room next door and they weren't being noisy. The door knockers rattle whenever you move the door to the room, so entry/exiting the room is inherently noisy. I hated having to give my credit card details to access WiFi, it really shouldn't be that complicated and I worry about data security. Bed is probably too soft for quality sleep as opposed to luxury lazing.

Fabulous location in a cute village surrounded by vineyards (Lavaux) and right on Lake Geneva with views to the Alps. Sumptuous bed, bedding, towels and dressing gown to cosy up into. Room was a comfortable temperature. Bathroom has a roomy shower. Immaculately clean throughout. Character, tasteful decor and the history behind the place. Tea-making facilities in the hallway on 2nd floor. Nice common areas with plenty of space and cosy chairs to relax. I was grateful to be able to leave my bag for a while after check-out.

Wonderful location by Lac Léman. Views over the vineyards and the lake. There is no TV, no telephone in the room, this on purpose to keep the nautic and old-style ambiance. Short walk to Bain des Dames for a swim.

There is practically no parking available, only one space reserved for the hotel; I guess, a general problem in such a charming (small) village… Something else, the bed was very high, I had some problems to get into it with my short legs…

Location at the lake is superb, with a fantastic view, even with bad weather (unfortunately our case…). The hotel is nicely renovated, our room was spacious and the staff was very friendly.

When we checked in, our bedroom floor was really dusty that when I used wer tissue to wipe the floor it became blackish. Other than this all is pevery well.

Hotel staff indifferent attitude. No welcome smile, no 'Good bye, thanks for staying with us, have a nice trip'.

My family and myself have been staying in this hotel over 20 years and always felt very welcome and well looked after. The hotel is now under new management. Sad to see indifferent hotel staff who dont seem to care for their guests. Lots of restaurant staff floating around, however not interested in service. The location is unique, right by the lake. Some rooms have wonderful lake views. The rooms have been renovated, and purposely still dont have TV/radio/phone.

The place has been renovated not very long ago and we could not help notice: a braquet lamp is hanging loose from the wall, the handle in the shower is coming off the wall, the shower screen has come undone, the floor is sagging in places. The personnel seems largely untrained, there is never any real service (as you would expect in such a nice place) and never any warmth when asking to be served. The whole impression is of a place badly or cheaply managed, which is a great shame.

This hotel is a real gem: just by the lake, magnificent view, centre of the village. The place has been renovated and the equipment is superb.

It was a pity that breakfast was not served at the hotel itself but in a dark and over-decorated room in a different building (we were told however that this would change during the main season). As such conceived to be luxurious (e.g. possibility to cook your egg as you like it), essential items were missing from the buffet. We had to ask for a plate, cup, milk, butter which then arrived one after the other - grudgingly it seemed. This was a disappointing contrast to the otherwise serene atmosphere.

The site of the hotel is very beautiful, with sweeping views of Lake Geneva and the Lavaux vineyards. We arrived in time and weather was nice enough to have dinner outside at the restaurant overlooking the lake - a real treat. We also liked the sober decoration of the room and the quiet village surrounding the hotel.

The downstairs lobby and restaurant does not have the same feel as the upstairs. It is more utilitarian.

My room was large, very clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel is positioned right by the lake with a beautiful view.
