  • Hotel Costa Choco Review score: 7.6

“I loved the services at the restaurant, the staff was very friendly.”

  • Refugio Mr Jerry Eco Hostal Review score: 9.1

“The beach is beautiful. During the weekend, there are local people celebrating life, during the week it is rather calm with the mighty ocean at your doorstep. Amazing food (if you eat fish)! The hike to Playa de los Deseos is worth the effort, huge, empty beach about 45 minutes walking through the jungle. If the electricity works, the internet is also pretty good.”

  • Refugio Mr Jerry Eco Hostal Review score: 9.1

“The energy of the place as soon as you land on the beach infront of the hostel attracts you and you soon wish you could stay there longer than planned. Very clean facilities, very comfortable and homey place. Staff with big heart and in you can feel they put alot of love and effort in the hostel. Loved the tiny details that made the place feel like home. Delicious food and chef using fresh ingredients every day (fish in a million ways). Lots of hikes and activities to do around. Thanks Adrian and the team for this beautiful experience:)”

  • Ecohotel Riomar Mecana Review score: 9.8

“We had an incredible stay at EcoHotel Riomar. Laura and her team are from the community, have deep love for the area, and create a warm and inviting experience. We ate most of our meals with the EcoHotel and enjoyed over 6 species of delicious fish, local vegetables, and fresh squeezed juices at every meal. Mecana beach is absolutely beautiful - we went on long walks and played in the waves everyday, we went tubing down the river, Laura set us up with a bird guide to take us in the jungle and visit a Harpy Eagle nest, and we also went kayaking through the mangroves! Laura also offers trips to a waterfall, snorkeling, and whale watching (in the right season). Laura worked as a veterinarian for many years in Bahía Solano and is very passionate and knowledgable about the environment and wildlife. She is working with the community in Mecana to help control the population of dogs and cats.”
