The temperature in the hotel rooms was worse, but I understand that it is apparently not possible to apply air conditioning in order to maintain authenticity.

The breakfast was great, rich. I would work a little on the more pleasant behavior of the staff - the waiter, at dinners. Smile and friendliness, otherwise everything is fine

The TV in the room was very old, it only had four 5 stations and poor picture quality. The en-suite was big but dated, with the shower in the bath. I don't like the see thru glass panel looking from the bedroom straight at the toilet... weird !

The staff are very professional and friendly. The bar / restaurant staff were also of a high standard, the food and drinks were excellent and the service was fantastic. The room in the orangery was spacious and warm. The bed was comfortable. Beautiful location and lovely gardens.

There was a local concert right next to the place, so that night it was a lot of sound.

There was also a wedding happening in the chateau, but even despite that, the service, the place and everything was very well organized and helpful. The stuff set the tables for guests in the different places in the chateau for the dinner, which made it even more intimate and romantic. The food and the service was really stunning!

The beds were extremely hard and very uncomfortable, the shower did not drain well and you were stuck standing in a deep puddle inside. The pétanque court was over grown with weeds and grass.

The restaurant and it's serving staff were very friendly and attentive. The pool area was very clean and comfortable.

The room was a little bit too hot when we arrived. We are not the biggest fans of AC, so it took us a while to get some fresh air inside. Also it would be nice to have a bigger/thicker curtains to make the room proper dark for sleeping.

Location is superb get-away spot. We had a great dinner paired with recommended wine which was excellent. The breakfast was fine, nothing special but it does deliver what would you expect. It was not our first time at Chateau Kotěra and I think it wasn't the last either.

We arrived at the hotel on a wet and rainy evening. We were the only guests staying and the reception staff told us that they were going off duty very soon and we would be in the hotel alone for the night. That felt very spooky! To the point where I asked if it was haunted. I can assure any other worried guests, that in our experience of a dark and stormy night in a huge, empty, palace - there were no bumps in the night! The bedroom is very sparsely furnished, with no bedside tables. there are no tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom totally lacks privacy. When you open the door to the room from the main corridor, anyone can see straight into the bathroom through the clear glass divider. There is zero privacy, so make sure you know your travelling companion intimately. Don't answer the door when someone is in the loo. We still chuckle about it now.

This was a hotel of two halves. The restaurant was outstanding. Beautifully presented breakfast and excellent service. Room was large, but felt very empty.

we booked a room at a chateau & were put up in a side building that gave us a motel experience. one person in our party stayed in the Chateau, rest of us stayed in side building with smelly rooms. NOT a place we wish to return.
