How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Slightly confused over breakfast . It seem to be on offer for ~£14 but the dining room was empty . maybe it is something that you have to book in advance but I wasn't clear on the instructions. Just a minor comment - it did not cause any problems as there are many cafes, delicatessens and bakeries nearby.
The location was very good. The main purpose of my visit was to see the Schwebebahn and it was next door. Convenient also for bars and cafes and the main DB station. The room was clean and comfortable. 24 hour reception meant easy access at all times. Staff very friendly and understood that my German speaking is a bit limited.

Location is fanastic on the main street very close to the U-bahn station. You can fast be connected to Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof.

The elevator was pretty old and slow the facility may need to change or update their elevator.
The hotel is located at the heart of Wuppertal whish was pretty convenient for my stay as I needed to travel Dusseldorf HBF daily basis due to my exhibition.

They said there would be a Schwebebahn ticket included, they had none til the following day do I had to pay 14 euros unnecessarily, pretty poor.The Town of Wuppertal is now over run by Immigrants so not a nice place to stay.Will not be recommending to anyone !!

the room of my latest stay was on second floor, rather tiny and quite noisy. bed way too soft for my taste. overall a decent package and worthwhile

There was no double bed, but two fairly light-weight single beds that were moved together. in the night, both beds would slide away from each other - not good if you are staying as a couple. We did not have a view to the rooftops of the curches sadly. If you are in the uppermost rooms facing away from the Schwebebahn station, the view is really scenic.
A pleasant stay, fairly cheap. Staff was friendly, and the Schwebebahn is right around the corner. The area around the Hotel (Schlossbleiche) now is friendly and clean. This used to be quite different.

Google Maps sends a few false trails out if you're travelling by car because the hotel is on the edge of a pedestrian zone and if you approach from the east you get led into a dead end. Breakfast was sadly unimaginative. There is meat other than pork............
the location could hardly be more central...... all in all a great stay. Fantastically helpful and friendly staff, comfortable bed, good soundproofing

First impression from street isn't great, but once inside it can be seen that place is clean & well maintained, so basically no negative issues.
Hotel is close to Hbf & dangle train station, just off main shopping street. Hotel is basic but of a very high standard, spotless, well maintained, friendly & helpful staff. A simple & very filling breakfast provided as well.

Reception a bit casual and seemed to have omitted to order the taxi I needed but was able to get it to me in a few minutes.
Conveniently near the railway station for my early start. Comfortable single room. Good breakfast, available before the advertised time.

Room and bathroom decor could do with a freshen up. Though beyond the control of the hotel we opened the window to get fresh air and the extractor on a nearby roof from a kebab shop filled the room with fast food odour proberly not helped by the wind direction

The room was clean, except the big spiders near the window. If you're afraid of them, like I am, you're in a bit of a trouble. I kept distance and the spiders respected that at least. The toilet is very uncomfortable as it's shoved next to a wall and you have to squeeze between that and the sink. The staff is all great, but not speaking English is a big turn-off because I couldn't communicate with them except some basic information and that's about it. I needed a business receipt and I couldn't get one because the old man at the desk couldn't explain anything to me because he can't speak English. For a hotel owner, that's pretty bad, especially in Germany.
A nice and cozy place in the center of Wuppertal. It is very close to the central train station and that's very good if like me, you're traveling daily.
