A little weak drain of water in the shower room, but not significant problem. Fruit and vegetables were not so fresh.

We ordered some food by the pool which took over an hour (and two reminders) to get. The whole hotel could do with a freshen up, it’s a bit dated and needs a lick of paint! Ashtrays in the lobbies speak volumes. Rooms are also quite noisy. We had to sleep with earplugs because the road noise is not stopped at all by the wafer-thin windows. Morning prayer was a 5am wake up call!

The staff were generally helpful and talkative. Especially the travel agents at the front. Only issue in this regard was being able to get service by the pool/ food which seemed to take forever (over an hour in one case). The breakfast was good, with a spread out from 5:30 - very helpful for early starts/flights. You also get an amazing view of the balloons taking off at that time. Room service was prompt and had everything you needed to enjoy dinner with the beautiful view on the balcony. The pool is beautiful, though could benefit from a little shade and some service. Travel agents were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They also don’t try to rip you off, like some hotel agents do. They have reasonable prices. The room had a working safe, which is very beneficial for peace of mind.

Breakfast has I’m Roved since our last stay, and we have been here several times. More fruit and yoghurt now available. Staff very helpful, and saw them particularly helping people with mobility issues at breakfast. Pool not heated, but it is a beautiful clean pool, saw a couple of hardy souls swimming, but too cold for me in March.

Great hotel with amazing view of the nile. Large swimming pool and quiet rooms during the night. Walking distance to Luxor temple and the Luxor museum.

I loved the location of the hotel and the sympathy of the employees. They upgraded us to a better room with a better view without additional costs. We extended our stay for one more day with the normal price and everything was wonderful.

The only complaint we had was that there was a couple bus loads of students and unfortunately they were running in the halls till after 1am and we had to get up at 2am to leave for the airport. We asked them to stop and also called the front desk multiple times when they did not but to no avail unfortunately.

The staff at the Aracan were amazing starting with Aly who went above and beyond to make our anniversary holiday something special. We arrived early in the day and they were able to accommodate us and get us a room of our choosing. Ahmed in the dining room was another amazing and tentative staff member along with the breakfast staff who would try to assist you in any way that they could. Our room had an amazing view of the Nile & the sunset every night. The location was excellent as well and would definitely stay there again. Oh almost forgot, the pool area was also a bonus along with the spa (the massage ladies were awesome and would book again as well).

Stayed here when it was the Mercure Etap some years ago. Things haven’t really been well maintained since then. Wi-Fi is hopeless, even in the Lobby.

Staff were excellent- couldn’t be more helpful, especially front desk and guest services.
