Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe rooms could definitely do with a refresh (new carpet, updated bathrooms) as they are beginning to look a bit tired. However, we spend very little time in the room when we are in Paris, so we don't mind so much. Avoid the elevator if you are claustrophobic. :) If you like modern chain hotels, then you might not like this place, but if you like quirky, charming places with character, then it would be a good choice. We don't usually take advantage of breakfast, preferring just to grab a coffee and pastry in the neighborhood, but the hotel breakfast always looks delicious and, with inflation, might actually be a good deal these days.
My daughter and I have been coming here every year since she was 5. This was our 11th trip! Every once in a while I suggest trying a different hotel, but she refuses because she loves this one so much (I do too!). The location is absolutely ideal for exploring the city since you can walk just about everywhere from the hotel. It's also situated on several metro and RER lines, making it simple to get there from train stations or the airport. The decor is charming and, though it's in a lively area, the hotel is tucked away on a quiet side street. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms include a kettle and mini-fridge, which is handy.

AustraliaRoom was extremely small, especially the bathroom which also needed updating.
Great location. Walking distance to many of Paris’s highlights and an abundance of restaurants/cafes nearby. Hôtel being so old had great character.

EstoniaWe were in a room with a balcony at the end of April, the flower boxes on the balcony unfortunately had wilted plants from last summer
Best location for exploring the city. Nice cafes, shops nearby, metro station 150 m away. Delicious breakfast. Helpful and caring staff.

United KingdomWhile the old fashioned decor had its charm, the hotel interior was tired, and in urgent need of a total upgrade.
Breakfast quite adequate though the open plate of long cooled scrambled eggs was dispiriting!

United StatesThere were only two outlets in the room and they would not hold my phone or watch chargers so I did them through my laptop. I wish I had checked to have a room not on the air shaft.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful; I arrived early and soaking wet and the had a room for me in about ten minutes.

AustraliaThe room could do with some new carpet and an extension cord for the tray with the jug so it doesn't have to go on the floor to boil it from a power plug.
Breakfast was great and lots of choice. Room was quiet except for bins.

FranceOur stay had both highs and lows. Despite reserving three rooms and receiving confirmation for a 13:00 check-in, we had to wait until 15:30 due to delayed room cleaning. The inconvenience was partially offset by the hotel's thoughtful gesture of offering free breakfast the next morning, which we appreciated. One room had a noticeable smell of humidity, which was a minor discomfort. On a positive note, the hotel's location near the Louvre, Pont Neuf, and public transportation was excellent, making it easy to explore the city.
