Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe location of Le Couvent was perfect. It was very easily accessible to the town of Apt, located just off the town centre, which made it very walkable. The hotel is situated next to a large free car park with lots of spaces so was easy with our hire car. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. The apartment was the perfect size for myself and a friend, with a well equipped small kitchen area, indoor and outdoor dining area on the private balcony. Room was also spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anybody visiting the area.

United StatesVery little not to like. Perhaps the breakfast could offer a bit more variety, or the possibility of a cooked or soft-boiled egg. Would be nice to be able to toast the delicious breads.
Charming, restored old-world convent that isn’t pretentious or trying to compete with 5-star organizations. As a result, one gets large spaces, often with sitting room, large bedroom, spacious bathroom and separate toilet, all done in old tile and whitewashed plaster. Furniture is comfortable and bed linens are top-quality! Laurant, who bought a complete ruin in 2000, manages the building with a friendly and lively attitude. Don’t miss eating a meal by Mylene there in the evening, when it is offered. It’s €30, including wine & dessert and is truly delicious French home cooking.

United KingdomThe cistern was a bit erratic but the toilet did work.
It's a wonderful space, a beautiful converted convent with a charming, slightly dusty garden and delightful pool. The location meant we could just saunter out and find a restaurant for meals without any hassle.

United KingdomThere was no air conditioning in the room just a couple of fans. I think, however, we were experiencing exceptionally high temperatures - we survived!! The check in time of 17h (and not a minute before!) was a bit exaggerated. We pretty much lost a whole day but I guess we could've organised it better as it was clearly stated in the booking form. A bit of flexibility would be nice though!
Good communication from the owner re: directions and parking. He helped us with the luggage up to the second floor which was much appreciated! The accommodation was huge; sitting area, bedroom, bathroom and separate WC. The little pool was very welcome in the extreme heat, as was the fridge in the room. Breakfast was nice.

ItalyVery cozy location, in a quiet area of Apt. Good place to be right in the middle between the area of Valensole East, and Roussillon, Senanque, etc West. The rooms and bathrooms are very large, and all well furnished and equipped. Good breakfast to complete the picture.

United KingdomWe were in another town about 40 mins away and decided we would check in to the hotel a bit later (before their 9 pm cut-off point to check in). We got a call that they would prefer us to check in earlier as the host had somewhere to be. He was extremely nice but it was a bit upsetting as we wanted to stay in the town a bit longer to experience some more sights so felt a bit rushed as by this time it was 6:30 and he requested us to come at 7:30 pm. When we arrived we were also rushed to our room (I didn't think a person could climb two floors of stairs so quickly haha), We were shown our room and she was very lovely but clearly had somewhere to be, basically it felt like she wanted to get on with her night - we weren't shown reception or anything so, to be honest, I have no idea if they even had one (I suspect they do but I had no idea where!?) This led to us having to leave at 6 am and because I had no idea where the reception was or if it was open (as no real details were given) we just had to leave and I had to message after to ask if there was another way we could pay. Our terrible French didn't help (not their fault of course as we are visiting France and should know French but if you don't speak French it is a struggle). The hosts are clearly very lovely - maybe we caught them at an odd time or something but it colours my view a little.
The room was spacious, the bed was SUPER comfy (albeit a bit small for my over 6ft partner) but really very nice. It was a very unique stay - modern mixed with history - personally something I really love. We only spent three days there so hard to comment further. The room was also very very clean. The compound is very safe and secure (and pretty) :) Overall very lovely place (one of the first to look the exact same as their photos).

United StatesWe loved our room even though we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs. Free public parking was available across the street. The hotel - an old convent - is tucked into a small garden setting with a pool. The rooms are all different and quite large with comfortable beds and big bathrooms. Breakfast was self service with everything from meats, cheeses, eggs and croissants.
