Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaThe shower tub was small.
I was very happy with this hotel, because it has a 24 hour reception for our late arrival in Paris and the staff is really friendly there. The location also is great very close to the metro station with fast access to downtown. Sacre coeur and Montmartre are very close where we watched the Eifel tower lightning by night. The close restaurants are very nice. Overall the street of the hotel is quite for Paris. The room was small but very comfortable and cosy with very clean sheets and bathroom. I love the small balcony and the view from there. The hotel has a complimentary coffee every morning.

GermanyNot a lot of negative things to say, but the following caught our attention. Improving them would make a huge difference. One cannot enter the building from outside with the key card. You should ring the bell and someone would open it from the inside. Although the reception is open 24/7, it's somewhat uncomfortable when you have to ring it regardless of the situation; whether you come at 2 in the morning or the staff is busy with another client. Also, you cannot put a do-not-disturb sign outside, or lock it, so even if you decide to stay in, the cleaning staff would come for their duty. The mattresses were excellent and comfortable, but the pillows were a bummer. They were way too thin and it was almost like sleeping without one. The lift is small and cannot accommodate more than two people at once.
The beds were really comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious enough. We were quite impressed with the daily cleaning that took place. We spent four nights there. We left the hotel in the morning to see around - at the end of every day we returned to a spotless room. The towels were super clean and they replaced them daily. One can't even spot a single water drop anywhere, the taps and the shower were sparkling after each cleaning session. As for the facilities, the room and the bathroom are equipped with an in-built hair dryer, a safe, (didn't check the functionality), a small coat hanging closet, a TV (not connectable to wifi), bed linen, towels, and an all-in-one shampoo/body wash/hand shower. We arrived in Paris early and had planned a visit to a museum. We asked in advance if we could leave our luggage, and they were happy to accommodate our request. The process didn't take more than 10 minutes. When we checked in, our luggage was handed over to us without any hassle, and the whole thing took only a few minutes. The Reception is also quite nice. The staff is there 24/7 if you need anything. In the common area, there is a Coffee machine that you can use - the tokens for the machine can be taken from the reception (we didn't try this) - a microwave, and an electric kettle. These facilities come in handy since the rooms are not individually equipped with these appliances. Right next to the hotel, there is a Supermarket so it's very convenient. Sacre du Coeur is within walking distance (10 minutes max) You can easily get one of the buses- if you walk to the Tram station, depending on which, it might take some time. Anvers -Line 2 is the closest, M7 Cadet is about 10 minutes away on foot. Highly recommend!

QatarNot the hostel we actually booked, they sent us somewhere else. Rooms are kind of small but I guess that’s Paris. Even though it was a hostel didn’t get a hostel community vibe but maybe that’s due to COVID.
Nice location with a few tram/metros nearby to take you anywhere in the city. Lots of restaurants and bars around and very close to sacre coeur. The room was clean and there was an elevator.

South AfricaThe rooms are really small, and no view. In one bathroom there was no shower. The breakfast was way too expensive - 9 euro for basically croissants and bread.
The heater in the room was very effective. The location was excellent - close to a Carrefour, the Metro is 50 m away, and the Gare du Nord one block away. Also, the Montmartre is just across the street.
