Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomUnfortunately no air conditioning so it can get quite warm/stuffy in summer.
Love this property. The second time we have stayed. Reasonable price for the heart of London. Clean rooms and very welcoming staff. Tea and coffee in the room and ironing facilities on request. The hotel states there isn’t a lift and there are quite a few stairs to climb if you’re on upper floors. However, the staff are very accommodating if this is an issue. We had a disabled member in our group so the hotel receptionist made sure they had a ground floor room. They helped my elderly parents with their luggage too making sure everything was taken to their rooms. It is definitely our go-to hotel when visiting London.

United StatesWhile we are young and can definitely deal with this, we had to travel 6 flights up to our room every day. Also, there was a foul odor that came from the bathroom, but I’m assuming it’s because it’s an old building.
Great location and friendly staff!

EstoniaProblems with water pressure in the shower, just one hook to hang the towel (would be nice to have more for 3 people). The rest was perfect!
The hotel is very nice and cosy, comfortable bed, very good breakfast. You can walk almost to any famous location from there. We really enjoyed!

GermanySadly, the lamp above the shower had a leak. I was able to use another shower in an another room and they tried to fix it, but moving my shower stuff and clothes around was a little bit inconvenient. They were very nice about it though.
If you are a Harry Potter Fan, I recommend staying here! It was awesome and even for one night perfect. They play the Harry Potter Theme music when you first enter your room and are really friendly. You can rent all movies at the receptions which is great! You can even get a Harry Potter themed breakfast, if you want to.

Hong KongNo elevator, and if you bring several luggages, you do need help from the hotel. And the shower space is too small
The room is spacious enough for 2 big luggage and 2 cabin size.

AustriaWe knew that there would be no lift but where underestimating how strenous it can be to reach the last floor by foot after a long day out in London walking. So would definitely ask for a room at the lower floors next time. The bathroom door was only a sliding door that was not actually completely shutting the bathroom from the rest of the room. We couldn't open the windows which was okay in March with low temperatures but might be more of a problem with higher temperatures.
The style of the hotel and the location. Once you find out the quickest way from Victoria station it is a nice, short and safe walk to the hotel. Continental breakfast was far better than expected (including overnight oats and a good variety of fresh fruits, tea & juice served at the table). Super friendly staff.

United KingdomThe hot water was a little temperamental, but it is a Victorian building, so it wasn’t too much of a surprise when demand for showers was high.

United StatesRoom 56 is a fourth floor walk up. Tough with luggage!
The wizard room on the lower floor was special and delighted my 11 year old Potterhead. We switched to a regular upstairs room for the end of our stay and found that room clean and comfortable as well. Staff were helpful and kind. Breakfast service was truly excellent. The staff were very responsive to my son’s food allergies and accommodated us during the morning meal.

The staff were Amazing, they really looked after us all. It was my husband’s 50th birthday & they made it extra special with a bottle of Prosecco in the room. My daughter got given silver coins to spend in the tuck shop which she loved & we borrowed Harry Potter dvds to watch together for the evening. The room was Amazing, full of character and it felt like we were sleeping at the Hogwarts Wizards School. The attention to detail was fantastic. The breakfast food was fantastic. We would definitely visit and stay again.
