Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was a shame about the parking. Luckily there was a meter so we could still park there.
The location is perfect, a supermarket was 2 mins walk away. The main town is also right there. Beautiful building with picturesque views of the town.

GermanyUnfortunately there was a problem with the electricity in the kitchen (stove and fridge not working) on our last evening, which could not be fixed and there was also no warm water in the shower. But the staff was very keen to help (even without success) and we got a little discount afterwards. Can happen - nevermind! Besides that only small things to critizise: - the light in the kitchen-area is a little too dark - a pouffe or someting else to put one's feet up in addition to the sofa would be nice - Since there is a dishwasher in the kitchen, it would be beneficial to have more than four of each dish/cutlery so one does not have to run the dishwasher only half-full. - we missed some nightstands, especially because the bed is very high and it is not very comfortable to reach down to the floor
We had an amazing appartment and enjoyed our stay a lot. - extraordinally cosy bed! - spectacular view over the city - very stylish interior - a lot of space - The staff was extremely dedicated and helpful. - Luckily the Sky lounge was open on our last morning, so we enjoyed a coffee with a wonderful view. - care products of high quality - location: It is a 10-minutes walk to the city centre, a supermarket is located just across the river, quiet neighbourhood - perfect for our needs. If we ever visit Groningen again, we will come back!

BulgariaThe transformation of a former water tower into a modern accommodation was fascinating, and the high ceilings and stunning views added a unique charm. Located conveniently close to Groningen's attractions, it was perfect for exploring the city. What made it even more special was seeing my daughter fascinated by the experience. Highly recommended for people looking for an interesting and comfortable stay in Groningen.

NetherlandsKitchen needs a microwave There is a sky lounge at the top closed to guests! The hotel is expensive and in my view slightly overpriced. One of the points of staying in a tower is the view. The fact the sky lounge is closed to guests is not noted in the lift, however when we tried to go to the top floor we were stopped by a member of staff. Apparently visits are possible Sunday. I assume therefore the lounge is for business use only.
Lovely rooms in an unusual building.

United KingdomThe one toilet between the two bedrooms was a little small but a nice touch that there were two showers for each of the room. Since the rooms are not serviced, extra coffee capsules would have been appreciated (but got some from the supermarket anyway).
Beautifully designed, spacious apartment with great views and conveniently located - walkable everywhere in the city and a supermarket very nearby. Plenty of parking spaces (paid for) just outside the hotel or in car parks too.

NetherlandsThe distance to the city center takes some walking time which is not ideal when it rains. Also, if you book this hotel for a visit to concert hall the Oosterpoort/SPOT you need to take into account that you need to walk for roughly 30 mins to get there.
Nice original location as we were staying in an old watertower. The apartment was spacey and decorated in a industrial, modern and cozy style. Two spacious bedrooms with each their own bathroom complemented the vibe.

NetherlandsDue to how the rooms are shaped there are some disadvantages - the shower is quite large, but the sink area is quite cramped, for example. Takes some getting used to, that's all. It can also get quite windy so probably a good idea to keep the windows closed overnight. Also, the elevator is probably the slowest moving elevator I've ever seen, and I've seen a few.
The fact that it's a converted water tower speaks for itself - it's really a one-of-a-kind experience. I had the penthouse room and you can see the entire city's skylines from every window. Apparently it's only been opened recently, but either way it looks very new and very well maintained.

Spainvery nice apartment. Location ok to reach the city centre. As everywhere in Groningen, going by private car means that you have to pay for the car parking, and parking at the street has additionallt time constrains.
