Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Statesa wee noisy outside (but not bad)
this might be the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in, with the coziest blankets. I ended up needing to stay 4 extra nights and the owner was so easy to work with (you do need Google translate if you’re not fluent in Spanish). Hot shower with good pressure. only had 2 breakfasts due to morning pickups for treks but very nice. easy to walk to historic center, right near Mercado. Mini fridge and tea kettle in room which makes things so convenient for those early mornings.

IrelandNothing! All was amazing
This is such a lovely place to stay. It's very central, only a 10 minute walk from plaza de la Armas and right by San Pedro market. The rooms are comfortable, very clean, a nice temperature and cosy. Above all the family here are just amazing, they really make you feel at home. They helped us with taxis, laundry, holding luggage when we were trekking to Machu Picchu! Nothing was a hassle they were so accomodating. They also cook amazing breakfasts at a time that suits you. Would 100% recommend. It's like a home away from home.

GermanyThe friendliness of the hosts is incredible. If you think about staying in Cusco, don't think twice and go for this Bed and Breakfast. Once you leave, you feel a bit like leaving home. Breakfast is fresh with fruits, egg, bread, coffee and tea. If you want more, you can always ask for it. They help to organize taxis, have great recommendations for food, clothing markets etc. They communicate via WhatsApp very rapidly (especially these days during the political instability in Peru). It helps if you speak Spanish.

United StatesThere is no lobby, just a hallway and stairs to your room. It probably wouldn't have mattered if I had not been confined for the few days.
The family that runs the B&B were kind and helpful. The train strike created chaos for visitors and they were helpful trying to find out information. The father offered to walk to the train station with me to make sure I was safe during the shutdowm. (The city is safe, I had been there for several days beforehand, we just got caught in the political situation ). They also allowed me to check in very early in the morning when the trains stopped, which was very helpful to me. The breakfast room on the 4th floor is delightful. The room was small but comfortable with amenities such as small refrigerator, safe, hot water in both shower and sink, comfortable bed, lots of cable channels. They also have wall sconce lighting, which is appreciated so I don't have to use the bright overhead lights.

SingaporeThe bathroom sink had only cold water. It would be great if drinking water was available for guests.
Friendly family business. The children help with translation as parents speak very little English. They allowed us to store our bags in the room and had late check out. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. Blankets were heavy and at least 4-5 layers thick. I liked it but my hubby didn't. Great location.

NetherlandsThe only thing we can think of is that the owners don't speak English very well. However their son does which is a great help!
We stayed her a few nights before and after doing the Salkantay Trek. The owners were so helpful with everything, making sure our luggage could be stored in the meantime, and putting it in our room when we came back. Also it's possible to let them do your laundry for a small fee, which was really convenient. The rooms are comfortable, with hot showers and a comfortable bed. Also breakfast is good, with something different every day. We would definitely recommend this place!

United StatesCommunicating was a bit difficult as our Spanish was poor, and the hosts do not speak English. But between phone apps and their daughter who was there on weekends, we managed. The couple who own the place are very sweet and tried to make sure we were taken care of despite our language barrier.
Hosts were very nice and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Breakfast was delicious. They arranged bagged breakfasts on the days we had to leave early, and made sure we had a taxi to the airport on our last day.

United StatesMy husband and I loved our stay in Cusco Bed and Breakfast. Manuel, the owner, took care of us like family; he helped us book taxi cabs from/to the airport and waited with us for one of the taxis to arrive. They even had breakfast ready for us in bags for those early morning tour days. Room was nice and private. We had a big and comfortable bed. Cusco Bed and Breakfast is located in a great area, a 10 minute walk to Cusco’s main square and el Mercado De San Pedro is located across the street. We’ll definitely stay there again when we visit Cusco!

Franceclose to San Pedro train station, less than 4 minutes which is great if you’re taking the train to Machu Picchu early. The property is broken into sections, for example my room was on the second floor along with 3-4 other rooms, which had a shared living room area, and could only be accessed by code (and then a key for your room specifically). It felt very safe, and clean. Breakfast was great, served every morning on the fourth floor. One day I had to leave early (for Machu Picchu) and they left a bagged lunch at my door to take with me. And it’s not basic bread and yogurt, one day it was a crepe with fruit and a hard boiled egg, the next was an egg omelet with a fruit cup and toast. It’s a nice filling breakfast.

South AfricaThe rooms are very small and we missed an outside courtyard to sit in and relax.
The Host and hostess were lovely people and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Language was a bit of a problem as they do not speak English but we got by. The breakfasts were fantastic!! Freshly cooked every morning with different dishes served every day. Tea and coffee was available in the room. The beds were very comfortable. The location was excellent. Close to the main square. No hills to climb - which is important when you are acclimatizing. The host was always up no matter what time we left for excursions and made us packed breakfasts for early morning starts. They also stored our luggage for the 5 days while were walking the Inca trail - which was a bonus.
