Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsOrdered beddings for 5, got for 4. Wi-fi was out briefly during one of the nights we stayed.
Top value for the money, even more so for a family with three small(ish) children, who always look for water in warm temperatures or wherever (prop has two pools and a playground)

United KingdomWe had a comfortable stay and the kids loved it. Attractions like Zoomarine, Slide and splash and Krazykart are close to this accommodation which made it an excellent choice to keep the kids entertained. The beach is also a few mins drive. The rooms were spacious and clean. Fresh towels were also supplied and housekeeping did a great job!

United KingdomLocation is slightly remote, however, not an issue as we’d hired a car.
The villa was very spacious and had outside garden and first floor balcony with sunbeds. The villa was clean and had a well stocked kitchen which was enough for our needs. The pool and other communal areas were kept clean.

IsraelTwo things spoiled impression. The wi fi was terrible. Probably it has own schedule with 5 times per day siesta. The other point - lack of the windows, only the doors, which are not possible to open in vertical . And if you have an appartment at the ground floor, you have to sleep with the open doors, that don't let you feel safe.
Very good appartment for this price. Actually I don't understand why it was so cheap. Good location if you have a car and so on.

United Kingdomwe prefer a high floor with a balcony preferably with a view our room was on the ground floor so we could hear the people above. The pool bar/restaurant menu was in the room stating that we could get all our meals there but it was closed. If im being really picky new more comfortable sunloungers would be good

LithuaniaWe would appreciate some shower gel and dish washing liquid in the apartment.
Good price / quality ratio. Spacious and very clean, free parking, nice pool of good size. If you travel by car, the location is perfect for exploring the area, and it's just a few minutes' drive from Aqualand and Zoomarine. The sea views from our balcony were a bonus :)

IrelandI feel the snack bar could be developed more. Bring your own sunbathing towels not permitted to use property towels at pool. No entrance to pool before 9am and after 9pm, I feel this should be reviewed. Information of the area would be very helpful ie places to eat village markets pharmacy etc
Perfect location with a secure entrance. Kitchen well equipped.2 bedrooms in our appartment of great size, plenty of storage with blackout curtains. Bathroom wad a good size great shower. Loved the swimming pool and sunbeds, the snack bar had nice variety of snacks and beverages The TV and sofa area was ideal and cozy. There were separate ACs in every room and they worked very well. Cleaning staff came every second day provided fresh towels. Over all an excellent property we will definitely be back.

United KingdomBeing really picky, the only things we would like to have seen done differently are: WiFi was very slow and sometimes totally unusable. Not a major problem as the 4G was manageable but if you're planning to watch Netflix or do a spot of work then this might be an issue. Maps, it would have been nice to have a map of the site in our guest book so we knew where the amenities were. We were briefly shown a map during check-in but it would have been nice to have one on hand. Also a map of the local village showing the eateries and shops would have been great too. We didn't discover the Pera village market and other little shops until the day we left which is a shame for the local businesses that might have benefitted. Beds - in our villa the beds were VERY firm, the bedsheets too small and the headboards were loose on the wall so they rattled at the slightest movement. It took us 3 or 4 nights to adjust to the firmness. The headboards were fixed by wedging a t-shirt behind the headboard and moving the bed away from the wall slightly. The bedsheets on the double bed kept coming loose and we got tangled in the sheets during the night. Fitted sheets would have been nicer. With all that said, would we stay again? Absolutely - YES! It was a fantastic location, great atmosphere, clean and well run. Thank you to the whole team at Villas Barrocal!
Pera is a fantastic little village in the heart of the Central Algarve. During our stay we were able to travel to the beaches, mountains, Vilamoura and Portimao all within 30 minutes or so by car. There are numerous fantastic beaches just a short drive away. The villa was great too, very well equipped and had almost everything we needed for a fantastic stay. The reception staff were always helpful and friendly. The pool and poolside cafe were both excellent too. The pool is very clean and the cafe welcoming. The cleaners came every few days and cleaned our villa for us. A really nice and unexpected treat.

Czech RepublicThe sofa in the living was a bit worn and the kitchen lacked some of regular tools, like grater. Also, take note that there are no supermarkets nearby.
Nice holiday resort with pool and spacy apartments. Our apartment was well equipped and when we reported some problems with the dishwasher, it was soon replaced with a brand new one. Bedrooms and living were big, beds were comfortable, bathroom recently renovated (it could use some more storage space though). We had a nice balcony with plastic table and chairs where we had breakfasts and dinners - nice view of Olive trees and the sea on the horizon. It was also very peaceful and relaxing side of the town. The location of Pera is great - nearby beaches and cliff coast. Price was also good, so full satisfaction from our side.
