“Swimming pool, not heated, but great after walking the Via Francigena. General ambiance of hotel, it felt classy. Eating breakfast in the garden/courtyard. Staff were friendly and helpful”
“breakfast and dinner were exaptional- the best we had in italy.
the staff was perfect- warm welcoming and had a lot of recomandations of what we could do each day in tuscany even for the days we had diffrent accomedation”
“B&B La Fonte is in a lovely area, 30-40 minutes or so drive from Florence. It's down a steepish road but perfectly manageable, except perhaps in snow! The whole area is hilly so one has to be prepared for this. Has lovely views (there is a motorway in the distant front but it's not particularly noticeable. Unfortunately we were only able to enjoy the lovely pool one day, due to the weather. The room was spacious if a bit dark, Macchiavelli room is the best I think. To make this a top destination, we all felt a few things would have made a big difference. A kettle and tea/ coffee in the room, or very easy access to this in a downstairs lounge, as we experienced elsewhere. There is a breakfast room and in theory access to drinks, and perhaps coffee/tea during the day, but the room was closed most of the time. An honesty bar and ability to sit downstairs in that room would have been nice, particularly when it was raining. It wasn't obvious how to easily get hold of Simone, although he was very pleasant when around. Breakfast was fine if not outstanding - omelette, bacon, bread, croissant and sweet yoghurt and fruit juice. I don't eat pork and would have preferred some cheese or plain, unsweetened yoghurt. We went to two restaurants nearby. One, Il Borgo Macchiavelli is the top of the road, is walkable (if you don't mind puffing a bit uphill), and takes about 5-7 minutes. Absolutely outstanding, whether you are vegetarian or a meat eater. Another, Simone recommended, was a short drive away, very different but also excellent. Bottom line, you are spoilt for good food! This place is great for good weather, a bit less so in bad, and could be improved very easily (suggestions above) but we enjoyed ourselves overall!”
“beautiful property, meticulously maintained in a serene location. the staff at the restaurant were exceptional, the wine and olive oil tour was great fun and we loved the products and had some shipped back to the UK. A perfect place for a relaxing few days - also impruneta is close by and you can get there on foot so would recommend going to check out the town and terracotta on a cloudy day!”
“We loved everything about this place: the beautiful location in the middle of the nature, the friendliness of the hosts and the delicious food they serve in the restaurant. The appartment is very spacious and well equipped, the bed is comfortable and it has an own garden. The location is quite remote, but we got very good indications about how to get there. The hosts gave us great recommendations about hikes and activities in the area. We definitely recommend Villa San Michele if you want to combine hiking with wine tasting in the beautiful Chianti region.”
“Beautiful palazzo. Huge historical bedroom and great bathroom. Nice garden we could lounge and have drinks in. Fantastic breakfast (eggs to order), sat on the terrace with views. Great communication in advance and very friendly. Booked great venue for dinner.”
“A beautiful genuine castle with historical significance close to Florence in the Tuscan region. Just like the pictures. Large rooms, spacious and impressive. Beautiful gardens where you can get some gorgeous shots.”
