How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

One light bulb was missing in each light source. Seems like a dangerous solution to cost saving.
It was clean, beds were comfy. Check in was painless, staff was friendly. The bathroom amenities were generous.

The room had a door to connect to the other room and we could hear everything that was being said by the gentleman staying there. He was on his phone Sunday morning since around 6:30 am or so and there was no way we could get any sleep after that.
Very good breakfast. Nice room and comfortable bed.

Bathroom didn't have heat and was cold to shower in.
Room was clean. Smelled good, check in personal was engaging and friendly. Breakfast was hot and good. Facilities were clean and great bargain.

It had a pee smell when I enter a enclosed smell like the building needed to be aired out.

Only thing was a slow flushing toilet but that wasn’t to to bad it made you think it was clogged.

I haven't had any problems with checking in/out until now. When I first checked in on Friday night, the gentleman seemed to have been having some issues. When I had booked my reservation, I selected the option to pay at check in. They said I had already paid when I got there. I checked my account later, and it was taken out. No problem. The next day, I got locked out of my room at like 4:45 because of some sort of issue. When I checked out Sunday morning and asked for my deposit, they refunded me for $186. The room deposit should have only been $100. Apparently, they had charged me for Saturday night again, when they had temporarily locked me out of the room that day. I got the receipts for both refunds and I'm waiting for them to show up as pending in my account. I really want to keep coming here. And I hope this type of error doesn't happen if I come back again.
This has become my go-to hotel for my staycation needs. Convenient location, even for me as a pedestrian (10+ minute walk to a shopping center, etc.) Nice, big comfy beds. The rooms are a nice size. I love the bathrooms. Everything is decently cleaned. No complaints about the establishment itself.

The actual hotel was much more crusty than the photos made it out to be. The room either smelled like cigs or air freshener which is obviously the fault of previous guests and not the staff.
the staff was the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered, all of them were so genuinely sweet and you can tell they get along with each other as well and I love that. The huge bath tub was super cool.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. I wish the bathroom was more up to date. It looked kind of older than what I was expecting. Breakfast was very good. It was in a great location for me to get to my son's school (Tarheel).

We couldn’t bring our elderly teacup chihuahua.
It’s proximity to food and shopping. We were in from Ga for our nieces surgery at Duke and the property was very close to the hospital. The jacuzzi tub was nice after a very long day. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were wonderful. The staff was amazing, especially the Front desk ladies.

It would be great if there is different routes of shuttle.
Very clean room and great breakfast. The location is great to visit Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hills with your car.
