The hotel caught fire, alarms weren't able to be heard from my room, fire trucks pulling in alerted to the issue. Stopped an employee walking by outside and asked what was happening, was told they were asking guests to step out of their rooms. Waited hours to go back in for belongings. Had to be escorted but was left with no instructions that the hotel was then closed and ask guests had to pack and leave. Until escort returned later. Feels almost as if they need to check and see if all guests made it out because my room was obviously NOT on their radar of emergency alerts and assistance. Calling the front desk to see about what was going on, they didn't know, had to process many things. Said my refund would be taken care of later. Didn't get any other info. Local news that evening said the hotel had relocated guests to other hotels. I had to arrange my own relocation and accommodations. Waiting for response from hotel or Booking.com regarding a refund of my unstayed time and my incidentals deposit made upon check in.

The room was beautiful and quite large. The staff was friendly, even messaged after check in to see how the room was and if I had questions or needs. The lobby smelled very pleasant and not over powering.

No microwave or flat pillows. We like a choice in the three pillows they place on the beds.

Quiet and clean best describes our experience. Valley River Inn is conveniently located with many amenities to eat, sleep and shop if you need to. Our beds were great, pillows not so great for our needs. Our room contained a refrigerator but no microwave. A Keurig offers a taste of local roasted coffee, however if you are a tea drinker, you will need to run water through the machine once for hot water. The place met all our needs and the price was perfect.

There was a problem with the door lock mechanism in the room adjacent and it was very noisy as the guests couldn't get in and then the mechanism had to be changed. Need to let the adjacent guest know what is going on.

Quiet, nice facilities, restaurants nearby, hiking trail nearby

The place could use a refresh but is still clean and comfy. Request the top floor because you can hear people walking above you if you don’t.

We have stayed here many times while visiting our daughter at college. Very large rooms and nice restaurant/bar on-sight.

Pleasant stay near the WIllamette River
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Queen Room with Two Queen Beds with Pool View
    • Stayed 1 night

We had a pool view room, which isn't all that scenic in wintertime. The pool was covered and closed, so no soothing view there. Self parking at the hotel costs an additional $10, which seemed excessive for what was essentially a parking lot. The location was good/bad: the good is that it's right on the river, and has easy access to bike paths and such. The bad is it's tucked behind a fairly large mall, so there's a good bit of traffic to get through going to and from the hotel. It's also not near downtown --- which is a bit of a drive, so bear that in mind if you're not using the bike path.

Comfortable and clean, good sized room. Comfortable bed, good shower pressure, and appreciated the in-room fridge. Beautiful soaring lobby with fireplace and comfy couches to lounge in. Onsite restaurant has great views right on the Willamette. Easy access to Eugene's extensive bike path network.

The windows were dirty and full of cobwebs which made the views less spectacular. The bedroom needed a clock and convenient outlets to plug in devices.

There is a $10 fee for parking there.

The Inn is located by the river and biking trail. We had a wonderful dinner at Sweetwater. It’s very clean with a historic lodge feel. It is directly beside a shopping mall (which was a complete surprise), so lots of places to eat and shop within walking distance. Only 15 minutes from the airport.
