Our stay at Auberge Hidanomori was such a wonderfully relaxing, foodie experience. The location was incredibly peaceful, with simple but very comfortable rooms. The private baths were a lovely way to relax into a wonderful evening of extraordinary food and wine from incredibly knowledgable and experienced hosts.
A lovely property, great welcome, kitchen to use (replaced the stove as the gas was not working) lovely bathroom and the host is amazing and so welcoming. The communal area is great to meet other travellers or just to relax and have a chill evening. Stayed 2 nights and could have stayed more. Thank you!
Dinner and breakfast were generous, tasty, authentic and diverse. The design was traditional, warm and very pretty. Amazin private Onsen - taking a bath in the snow was a unique experience. The overall vibe was relaxing and romantic.
Everything was incredible. The room with the Mountain View was beautiful. I spent so much time in the open air bath and it was so relaxing. The Kaiseki meals were some of the best and most authentic meals I ever had. The staff is so lovely too. Every detail was perfect, down to them waving goodbye to us as we left. Highly recommend!!!
Everything! The big, Japanese style room had a gorgeous view. The whole place was very atmospheric with lots of small nieches to relax. They have both public and private baths, and the ones we tried were lovely. The private baths cannot be reserved, but we always found at least one available. The staff was super friendly and helpful despite a slight language barrier (my Japanese is rather weak). Dinner and breakfast were plentiful, interesting and delicious. Easy to reach by bus from Takayama.
Location - fantastic, easy walking to lots of lovely old buildings, cafes and restaurants. 100m from a little omikaze Staff - very welcoming, warm and helpful. They helped us secure dinner restaurants. Room - very comfortable and lovely view out the window of the falling snow. Comfy beds, comfy pillow and nice shower room. Facilities - warm relaxing lounge with free tea, coffee and games. For 1000 yen order the sparkling sake! Use the private bath- look out the window and have a nice relaxing soak after 20k steps exploring Takayama.
The location was great and close to the train station. We walked everywhere but there were also bicycles available. Beautiful views from the room of the town and mountains in the background. Staff were fantastic. The hotel has a great concept for helping you to explore the lovely town of Takayama and the various sights to see and things to do. Breakfast an dinner was delicious. We booked for a private onsen and found it clean and relaxing.
Lovely 2 storey boutique hotel. Upgraded us to a suite (we had 2 rooms). Very nice cosy common area for play after dinner. Love the Dyson hairdryer (same as what I used at home)
Lovely location, really friendly staff, great onsen to relax in, Netflix in the room!
