It’s such a relaxing and tranquil place in a quiet area of the city, surrounded by a nice garden. Rooms are in a sort of bungalow style and well curated, the bed and shower were some of the best we had in Indonesia (and finally, a non-smelly bathroom). Breakfast was great, they even had Nutella! Adjacent Chino-Indonesian restaurant was also nice and great option if you’re checking in in the evening and don’t want to head to the city

Accommodation is simple but all you need, you are made very welcome in their home and truly Linda is an exception cook - I hope she starts cooking lessons! Ricardo is always ready to chat and share his life experiences and discuss the local / wider Flores itinerary options. As a solo traveller not confident to drive a scooter on my own, I also booked a scooter + guide/driver through Ricardo and had the most amazing day with a sunrise start! My guide Yuven was superb and I felt looked after for the full day as if he was hosting a family member in Ruteng - Yuven is full of information, has excellent English, is a safe and confident driver (I felt like a princess on the back of the scooter for the day, as we coasted through small villages with everyone keen to wave to the bule!). We also had some side trips after the agreed itinerary to his uncle's home to escape the rain with a Flores Coffee, a Kim fruit buying mission at the market and a local volleyball game. Stay at D-Rima homestay if you are seeking affordable simple accommodation with local connections!

The gardens were so beautiful, there is so much thought and care put into this property. Francesca and the staff treated us like family, we felt very welcome here. The yoga studio is a bright, big space - perfect for some yoga, exercise or just running around in. The breakfast was outstanding and the dinner of chicken soup and tempeh/tofu fritters tasted so nourishing and wholesome. I would highly recommend staying here. Nice oasis, clean and centrally located in Ruteng. Thank you so much!

Super clean and the shower has good hot water. I didn’t take the breakfast but there was hot water available to make our coffee or tea. Mari the host was super polite and kind, she ensured that everything was going well. Mita the staff was so friendly and cheerful, making me feeling at home as soon as I arrived. I slept really well and too bad I only stayed here one night. If I ever come to Ruteng, I will def stay in this homestay.
