It is a lovely house where the first floor is given totally for the guests - a dining room with teakwood furniture and a large neat bathroom, with a small balcony. The morning breakfast and other vegetarian meals for a small price were local and delicious. Col. Singh arranges for drop and pick from airport so this is a good add on if one stays here. He was also very generous in showing us around especially when we had to be back before curfew time. We went to IMA market of course, the Kangla fort was closed sadly, went to the Govindji temple which was beautiful...he also took us to a museum close by...it was just a one night stay ..but I hope to go back when things are safer, will definitely stay at Haobam House when I do. Col. Singh also gave me some books on Manipur history to read after dinner. His wife shared some cultural tidbits about praying to the ancestors the next morning. We saw albums of his daughter's marriage. All in all a wonderful stay, learnt a lot about the culture of the land and its people ...would like to go back for more.
