Ferny Lane House is set in Burnt Pine and offers a garden and a terrace. With garden views, this accommodation offers a patio. Loved this place! Our stay was so comfortable with everything available and on hand which made it feel like a home away from home. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything from towels, linen, milk and cold water in the fridge, salt and pepper, washing powder, snorkel gear and even plenty of clothes pegs on the clothes line! Beds were comfy and the location was excellent with the main street only 1-2 minutes drive away. Many thanks to the owner, host and the cleaning staff for providing such top notch accommodation and service.

Offering self-contained accommodation surrounded by lovely gardens, Poinciana Cottages are 7 minutes’ walk from Burnt Pine’s shops and restaurants. Jackie and Peter were very helpful and accommodating, including giving access to their fruit trees and vege garden. Poinciana has everything you need to be self sufficient, a great BBQ area, car hire already sorted, all appliance and device instruction manuals, a clear waste sorting and recycling system, and an island orientation tour organised for the first day. Lots of added extras available to enjoy the beach and many outdoor spaces, such as access to snorkeling gear, beach towels, esky, ice bricks, umbrella and other picnic necessities.

Set on 2 acres of gardens, Channers on Norfolk is just 200 metres from Burnt Pine’s shops and restaurants. Guests enjoy free airport transfers and a free half day island tour. Perfect location, on the edge of the Burnt Pine strip. All the inclusions including: airport transfer, 1/2 day orientation tour, car for our use, mobile phone, wifi which worked, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms in a 2 bedroom unit. Kerri-Ann and Steve are delightful hosts and greeted us with a home-made coconut cake. A homely atmosphere, perfect for those wanting to self-cater and not looking for the full resort type experience.

The best things were the relaxed vibe on the whole island, where people don't lock their doors and the locals are very friendly. There is plenty to do from exploring beautiful nature all around the island to learning about Australia's history

We had trouble booking restaurants as food was in short...
We had trouble booking restaurants as food was in short supply whilst we were there. Also the cost of any food that was available was very expensive. The Bowling Club we found to be the best place for a decent meal at a reasonable price. The Homestead restaurant was a big disappointment. It was very expensive and we sent three steak meals back because it was very tough. The Chef was offhand and would not admit it was poor quality meat from NZ. He did offer us another meal of our choice but it too was very ordinary, considering the price. The entree of pate with sourdough was very nice. Very friendly people in town and very helpful, even though they're going through an extremely tough time with supply ships being delayed. Enjoyed the history and museums very much in Kingston.

Very central to everything on the Island.
Very central to everything on the Island. Close to main streets, pick up points for the various tours we did. Lovely relaxing area with lots of scenery, wildlife, excellent photo opportunities and close to lots of tourist attractions. Our most enjoyable days were being part of the tours. We did the introductory tour that tells you about the history and shows you some of the places of interest. Our driver was very comical and informative. Thoroughly enjoyed this great into to Norfolk Island. We also did a taste testing tour visiting some of the local farms/growers and then we did a progressive dinner was very delicious, excellent sized servings, very friendly and generous host families for every course (3 courses).

7 days is quite sufficient to see and do everything at Burnt Pine. Food is quite expensive and fruit and vegetables aren’t always available at the supermarkets. It’s a good idea to bring rice, pasta, tuna, biscuits, spreads, butter, cheese etc. as everything is quite expensive one the island. You can buy local fish but it is frozen. There are a variety of shops with some bargains to be had if you look hard enough. Hiring a car is a must so you can drive yourself around and explore all the sights and go to town for supplies.

Simply stunning.
Simply stunning. Not much else one can say. Roads are crappy, but safe. Take liquor from your departure duty-free as it's fearsome expensive on the Island. Make sure you have a hire car as there's lots to see. Many tours available but we very happily did our own thing and were rewarded for it.

Five adults reunited for our week trip to Norfolk Island
Five adults reunited for our week trip to Norfolk Island The house suited us perfectly with private bedrooms and two bathrooms. Everything was provided. More than just a starter kit. Wayne and Ian from NIHH looked after us. Our 6 seater Subaru was great. Definitely recommend this house. It’s in a nice rural part and close to Burnt Pine shops.
