Excellent security at peshawar PC 2.Nice buffet dinner with music 3.Excellent hospitality and extremely helpful staff The best staff and room service staff i have ever seen. But there were few things need to be sorted out. The Rooms were not carpeted. No electric kettle for making tea or coffee in the room.. Bath room was very small and old style .
Disappointing that the Fort (main attraction) is off limits to foreigners who have to apply for a permit a week in advance to visit it. This is ridiculous. Nothing else worth looking at. I would only recommend to foreigners (especially women) to only stay in PC Peshawar for Western- standard service and premises. Food is abysmal across town. VEGANS beware. Chicken lurks literally even in dishes listed as vegetarian. Cafe Crunch in University Town serves up a decent version of hummus and pitta but that's about the only option for vegans (apart from masala fries). Tai Pan restaurant inside PC Hotel does a very good east Asian a la carte menu.
My review with regards to Peshawar would be restricted to the work I was involved with. The city has all of the basic necessities one could ask for. It's one of the more affordable cities to visit and there is a functioning public transport system that I was unable to personally experience, but looked pretty decent from a distance. The local food is a must try, I would personally recommend that you definitely opt towards trying the local eateries.
Peshawar is quite different to Lahore, Islamabad etc. because of its proximity to Afghanistan and its Pashto-speaking majority. It is a very conservative area with very few women out and about and those who were wearing the chadaree with their faces completely covered. I have no issues with this but my wife felt a little uncomfortable just being surrounded by hundreds of men all the time. I am not suggesting for one moment that anyone's behaviour was inappropriate in fact quite the opposite :-)
I m impressed with the cleanliness of Peshawar. I believe Peshawar is the best neat and clean city of Pakistan (except few areas). The hospitality of the people is awesome. They don't want to take InDrive and private cab's fare from me as they told me that I am their guest. I love Peshawar and the residents of Peshawar. May Allah subhana wa taala keep them healthy, wealthy and wise as always.
Peshawar is an accent city with excellent values & traditions. Its hospitality is out of this world. There are lots of historical places & buildings to see. Peshawar is known to be the city of flowers. Its rich culture, food & flavours is a treat to experience. Its public transport is very efficient, cheap & comfortable. Qissa Khwani Bazar, is as ancient as the civilisation itself where centuries ago Karawans travelling from Central Asia, Russia passing through historical Khyber Pass would stay at Saraeys (motels) located Qissa Khwani Bazar, meet & greet each other & narrate their travel expeditions to benefits from each other experience.
