Impeccably clean and well maintained inside and out. They've thought of everything and offer the quality of a motel/hotel at less than half the price. They obviously take great pride in their motel, as they should. Extremely well done!!!!🤗. Highly recommend this.

I liked the proximity to Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel-by-the-Sea and the main attractions. The only downside was the particular location of the apartment in an industrial area, which was not apparent from the online external photos of the property. Sand City itself was a good location, less than ten minutes to the Monterey Airport, Fisherman's Wharf area, etc. It is also close to Pacific Grove and Seaside which offer a variety of attractions and eating locations. The weather was absolutely perfect.
My trip to Monterey Bay was amazing, due to how beautiful the scenery was and how close everything was to were I stayed. The Wave Street In was a great hotel to stay in because the aquarium and many restaurants are so close to it you can walk everywhere and not worry about parking. The hotel was also great as everything was clean and the staff was very helpful.
Its close to the race track, Aquarium and beaches but you'll need a car to travel to most of those destinations (there are a few local beaches within walking distance but its a 10 min drive to the wharf ). It's a much more budget friendly alternative to staying in Monterey.
I love the ocean. There are just so many great little beaches to visit. Monterey has so much Sea life too. We saw harbor seals, otters, elephant seals, too late for the Monarch Butterflys, tons of birds, just from the walking paths! We actually walked from Monterey to Pacific Grove. There are also loads of shops, and restaurants.
The shower was a Joke. It had virtually no water pressure, and the hottest water setting was barely luke warm. The fire alarm woke everyone up at 5:45 am, and we were forced to evacuate. This was caused by a temporary power outage. There is no reason the electrical power should influence the alarms going off. The Monterey area gets power outages on a regular basis. Is the hotel supposed to evacuate every time?! Overall, the property looks shabby and old. Definitely not worth a total of $500 per day! We won’t be returning here.
We went for Whale watching primarily. Worth it. Brilliant, but swell from previous storm pretty bad, despite anti-sickness tablets. Local Hotels have brochure with 10$ discount p.p.! Town pricey and touristic, We joint daily local indoor pool for 20$ p.p. a day as part of continous prep for swim competition. 17 mile drive [=12$ per car], nice, but not essential, on rental bicycle might have been more fun. Just walking bit away from wharf towards peninsula, wildlife like otters, seals etc. Parking ticket for parking against traffic 48$ [just popped into nice French bakery].
