The huge garden with old trees and football/volleyball fields is also great. I recommend renting a bike in a rental nearby (just few euros a day), then from the Lodge you can easily reach Norddeich, Greetsiel and also Norderney using ferry service.

The coffee machine in the morning. There is also a bike rental not far away for only 3€ a day. I didn't need this, but it could be really helpful for getting around. There was also free Wifi.
