The 1-bedroom apartment features a living room with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a fully equipped kitchen with an oven and a microwave, and 1 bathroom with a hair dryer. Towels and bed linen are available in the apartment. This was a beautiful magical place. The best place to see Quetzal is near an avacado tree right on this property. The cabin is right on the river, walking distance to two restaurants with beautiful patios. The drive from Quetzales national park entrance is lots of switchbacks and you must be very careful. Look for the “unicorn lodge” sign on your left coming down the mountain in San Gerardo. “Casa monge” itself isn’t well signed from the main road. I would recommend this place to anyone, it was fantastic! Dirche, the owner, was absolutely lovey and took us out at 5:30 to see the quetzals. I would also recommend the waterfall hike about 2kms down the hill from Casa Monge- a bit treacherous at times but well worth it, 2-3 hrs total!

Guests can enjoy a meal on an outdoor dining area while overlooking the city views. The apartment offers bed linen, towels and laundry service. Well there was a bit of a sanfu with the keys. The two individuals at the front desk couldn't find the keys the host left for me because they couldn't find my name. After some continual effort to provide more info, they found it. However, the building was clean, the apartment was very clean, both TVs worked, the shower was nice, albeit a little tight, but adequate. The water only warmed up to a certain temperature, maybe it could have been controlled from under the sink, but I didn't mess with it. The bed was comfy enough, plenty of space for my clothes and things. Everything you needed was in the kitchen. The Indian Restaurant downstairs had good food, but wayyyyy overpriced. The Pots and pans restaurant was much more reasonable. There are several cafes/coffee shops/restaurants within walking distance. But you will definitely transportation to get to just about anywhere else. BTW: if you are there during event time at the nearby stadium be prepared for crowds just about everywhere. The rooftop pool, pool table, views, BBQ, hot tub, were nice with all the spaces to hang out and chill if you want.
