Perfect hosts, beautiful guesthouse and nice breakfast! Fully recommendable! During our 3-nights stay we have felt like home thanks to the owners who are perfect in hosting with a very welcoming and helpful attitude. The place is nicely decorated with many plants and comfortable places to hangout. The room and bathroom are clean and fully functional. Also the breakfast is great with changing fruits, juices, marmalade and cake every day. The city center is only a short walk away.

Casa Samiri was the perfect refuge in Alter do Chão. Comfy beds, good AC, delicious breakfast, clean room, laundry service, quiet location and extremely friendly staff/owners.

it was excellent. immaculately tidy, comfortable, a few blocks from the beach and the staff was amazingly efficient. and right across the street to a bus stop for santarem. unusually good. on Saturday night the bar a block down hosted a pretty good jazz concert.

This is a lovely place. A real sanctuary in the forest. Janicke is a fabulous host. She made us waffles, gave us recommendations for guides and drivers, did our laundry and was attentive and helpful. Do not be concerned that this is a little way from the main town. This is what makes it such a perfect location. You will not be isolated as drivers will come to you and Janicke will always help you out. A complete slice of paradise.

The Pousada Villa Eden is an absolute oasis that exceeded our Discovery team's expectations during our month-long stay in Alter do Chão. Having switched over 10 hotels, including renowned ones, none proved worthwhile until we discovered Villa Eden. It's the only place with a soul, where individuals matter more than mere numbers. Our Discovery team will undoubtedly return when we revisit the Amazon. For those seeking relaxation, it's advisable to avoid hotels near the center due to the loud music and noises that disrupt sleep – making Villa Eden the perfect choice. Additionally, after a month in the Amazon, indulging in authentic Italian pasta at Villa Eden was truly priceless – unquestionably one of the best culinary experiences of our lives.

Staying at Casa Embira was amazing. The place is unbeatable. Right in the middle of the jungle with beautiful trees, less than 5 minutes by bicycle from the main square and beach. With hammocks perfect to chill out, read and spot and hear birds and monkeys in the wild. The staff are 5 stars and so friendly.
