Originally built in 1843, the elegant Château La Chaire is truly one of the islands' finest country house hotels, with a superb fine-dining restaurant boasting AA Red Star and Rosette awards.

Château La Chaire has been enhanced and transformed into a luxury hotel providing an incomparable level of comfort and service. Great care and attention to detail have been lavished throughout, with genuine antiques and original paintings lending an authentic air of period charm to the welcoming and restful interior.

The staff were outstanding, friendly and so accommodating. The rooms were lovely. Food was delicious. Hannah & Sonia (I hope I have the names correct) both particularly lovely and helpful.

Friendly hotel in an excellent location. The restaurant is nice and the food extremely well prepared with great flavour. We had half board with a set menu having 5 options, though for a longer stay I would probably have dipped into the a la carte. Very good roast on the Sunday. Other restaurants nearby and the beach is lovely. Plenty of parking and a disc was provided at reception but for 24 hour parking you need to find a slot 200m or more along the sea front which wasn't a problem for us in September.

Excellent location. Quiet but within easy access to the beach and some very good restaurants as well as the best fish and chips just opposite the hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful. I needed access to the internet on my laptop and there was a problem connecting. (My laptop caused the problem not their internet). Staff were very helpful and kept checking that I had access. Breakfasts were great with plenty of choice. Restaurant serves a good variety of evening meal and good quality as well
