It felt very cozy and was a short walking distance from the train stop. Super easy check in and check out. The staff was amazing, always very helpful and polite. There is also a very nice restaurant in the building that serves dinner and breakfast. Also the town the hotel is located in is a very nice little town. This 16th century Engadine mansion is nestled in a pretty hamlet, in a pastoral setting, and offers antique furniture, lovely bedrooms and quality in every detail.

The hotel, built in 1590, was originally a farmhouse owned by the Moeli family from Italy. Later, the home was bought by the aristocratic Von Salis family. The noble heritage of the building can be seen today in its metre-thick walls, handsome craftsmanship, beautiful wood panelling, outstanding paintings, handsome beamed and frescoed ceilings and colourful ceramic fireplaces.

We loved the atmosphere of this hotel. It was very intimate, charming, and well-appointed. The hosts, Sabylla and Jorg, were amazingly welcoming and were always available when we needed something or had a question. The historic room we stayed in was so cozy and functional that we really didn't even want to go out. The updates to this very old hotel are just the right amount of 'modern', but still have nice nods to the past; tasteful and authentic. The common areas of the hotel are like the inside of a jewel box; there are so many architectural details, curated surprises, great pieces of art and eclectic furniture, that wondering around each day brought a new discovery. We enjoyed the breakfasts served in the morning. There were many food options to choose from and everything was delicious and fresh.
