Our host was charming and made us feel at home straight away. our room was cosy and immaculate with everything we required and the bed and pillows amazingly comfortable to us. it’s located right opposite a pub where we had superb Indian curries. breakfast was excellent with a huge choice of fresh cooked food or other as you wish. it’s ideally located for the forest , we didn’t hear any noise and parking is simple, couldn’t fault it, thank you.

I stayed at Lyndhurst House for two nights with my friend. We stayed in the Pig room which was fantastic. It was extremely clean, recently decorated, had everything you could wish for that you need in a room. There was a kettle provided with a lovely selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as a bottle of water. The added bonus was a couple of packets of biscuits. The little touches made the place seem even more special. The hosts did a fab job. We were greeted by Nick who was very welcoming and introduced us to the surrounding area and both Alison and Nick were available if any issues came up. An excellent B&B and highly recommended if anyone is looking to stay in Lyndhurst.

Set in Lyndhurst and with The Mayflower Theatre reachable within 16 km, The New Forest Inn offers a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. The property is around 16 km from Southampton Guildhall, 18 km from Southampton Cruise Terminal and 32 km from Ageas Bowl. Salisbury Cathedral is 32 km from the inn and Salisbury Train Station is 32 km away.

The breakfast options were plentiful and the food was excellent. There were local beers on tap. The menu is a gastro pub menu and the food was outstanding. Just be aware that the rooms are above a pub, so you will hear the “locals” enjoying a pint! It was, however, quiet by 11:00 or earlier. Manager, Rob, was most accommodating as were Hannah, Alicia, Verity and Kyle. We also enjoyed chatting with the housekeeper, Violette. The New Forest Inn was located near trail heads into the New Forest. Downtown Lyndhurst is a one mile walk and has many shops, food establishments and The New Forest Heritage Museum.

An amazing, memorable stay. Chris was an incredibly hospitable host, served delicious breakfast and kindly drove us through the first on the first day to drop us off at a nearby town as well as to the station on our departure. He made us feel very much at home there and the room was spacious, clean and super comfy. 100% would return and highly recommend.

Location was perfect! While next to at least one other property (we think another similar one) it felt very secluded and private. The garden (with hot tub) were certainly well fenced off and private. Internally the property was very well thought out, large TV in a snug living room with a well equipped kitchenette, and clean and functional bathroom.

The premises being old and quaint was just the kind of place we like to stay in when in Southampton. We were made to feel very welcome on arriving . Menu for breakfast was a great choice I've never seen a prettier breakfast table with fresh fruit and plenty of everything. Both owners seemed lovely people very friendly and helpful .

The location was ideal with the forest roads and wild ponies just down the lanes. Le Chateau is charming and quiet. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Although we didn't have dinner at the Bistro, the menu looked varied and by the amount of diners they had that were not staying at Le Chateau, it speaks for itself. The breakfast was all you could wish for and more... Delicious. All in all a charming place to stay.
