Situated within 4.2 km of Clifford Castle and 13 km of Kinnersley Castle in Hay-on-Wye, The Firs at Hay-on-Wye B&B offers accommodation with seating area. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking.

Hay on Wye is a delightful town for a few days of immersion in its 20 bookstores, several antique stores, a Thursday market and absolutely gorgeous countryside. Fortunately The Firs had a vacancy and I recommend this excellent bed and breakfast unreservedly. Its location is ideal,a short walk from the bus and minutes from all Hay has to offer. Sally and John are the perfect hosts.. I appreciated John lugging my suitcase upstairs and the ride to the bus on the rainy morning of my departure. My room was spacious, spotless and so comfortable. Sally thoughtfully kept supplying milk for my instant coffee. I was impressed by the guest package in my room outlining the COVID precautions and giving a history of the area. The breakfast menu was varied and everything was so tasty, including Sally’s homemade marmalade .There is a comfortable conservatory for relaxing or enjoying the scenic back yard. Thanks again, John and Sally!!

The room was a good size, comfy bed, plenty of tea and coffee, the private bathroom was connected ( last hotel it wasn't and that was awful). Great location and there was free parking and WiFi. The breakfast was fantastic and plenty of choices. Di is a fabulous host and Captain the dog will cheer anyone up, came and sat at my feet this morning 😁 The swimming pool is in a separate building, it's heated and has changing rooms, a shower, toilet and sauna as well as the pool it self.

It is a lovely old building that used to be a pub and in a great location for town centre. We loved the pool and made good use of it, having it to ourselves once and sharing with one other person the other time. Breakfast was ample, with a good choice. The staff were friendly and helpful. An added bonus was the private parking at the back of the property but it is quite a narrow access. Room was quaint with lovely old features.

Great location in the centre of Hay-on-Wye but in a quiet spot off the road. Some lovely walks down by the river, very close. Excellent breakfast and good choice. John and Sally were excellent hosts. Two very friendly dogs. Single room had plenty of space and there was a fridge which was much appreciated. All very clean and warm.
