Situated within 4.2 km of Clifford Castle and 13 km of Kinnersley Castle in Hay-on-Wye, The Firs at Hay-on-Wye B&B offers accommodation with seating area. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking.

Hay on Wye is a delightful town for a few days of immersion in its 20 bookstores, several antique stores, a Thursday market and absolutely gorgeous countryside. Fortunately The Firs had a vacancy and I recommend this excellent bed and breakfast unreservedly. Its location is ideal,a short walk from the bus and minutes from all Hay has to offer. Sally and John are the perfect hosts.. I appreciated John lugging my suitcase upstairs and the ride to the bus on the rainy morning of my departure. My room was spacious, spotless and so comfortable. Sally thoughtfully kept supplying milk for my instant coffee. I was impressed by the guest package in my room outlining the COVID precautions and giving a history of the area. The breakfast menu was varied and everything was so tasty, including Sally’s homemade marmalade .There is a comfortable conservatory for relaxing or enjoying the scenic back yard. Thanks again, John and Sally!!

Providing free WiFi, Hay-on-Hye retreat offers accommodation just 3.5 miles from Hay-on-Wye (a 10 minute drive) and 6 km from Clifford Castle. The bed and breakfast offers barbecue facilities and a garden. The property is 6 km from Clyro Castle.

The fact that it is in the centre of nature and you can wake up by the birds singing, you can walk around and see the sheeps, breath the pine trees aroma, and literally enjoy every minute within nature. The breakfast was delicious, Irene made delicious Welsh cakes, fresh eggs, sausages and bacon, homemade bread, and fruits. The hosts were both lovely and welcoming. We had a nice time even sitting outside and enjoying our books and a cup of tea. Even was slightly cold, inside was warm and nice with the fireplace. Also, we never run out of supplies for the fireplace.

We loved the themed décor with every nook and cranny filled with interesting items. So much wood! There was parking in the lot, an elevator, a spring fed hot tub. There was a pool in the adjoining hotel for our use, but we stuck with the hot tub. Dinner (additional cost) was great with themed food available and roving singers. Breakfast (included) was served in a lovely room and was plentiful even though we are gluten free.

I spent 4 nights in this lovely B&B and had a great time cycling through the region around Hay. My room was cozy, clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly and as a vegetarian I was happy to see that they had a tasty vegetarian breakfast option. Highly recommended!

The house was in a great location, a short walk from the centre but quiet. Everything had been well thought through - every kitchen item you could think of was provided, lovely bedding and comfy beds, locally sourced soft furnishings, lots of games to play, lovely local toiletries. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the home comforts provided. I stayed with a group of friends and we had no complaints. A perfect base to explore Hay on Wye from

It is a lovely old building that used to be a pub and in a great location for town centre. We loved the pool and made good use of it, having it to ourselves once and sharing with one other person the other time. Breakfast was ample, with a good choice. The staff were friendly and helpful. An added bonus was the private parking at the back of the property but it is quite a narrow access. Room was quaint with lovely old features.

Great location in the centre of Hay-on-Wye but in a quiet spot off the road. Some lovely walks down by the river, very close. Excellent breakfast and good choice. John and Sally were excellent hosts. Two very friendly dogs. Single room had plenty of space and there was a fridge which was much appreciated. All very clean and warm.
