Staying at Villa Kabala is a unique experience that I can recommend to all who like the north shore of Lake Balaton and enjoy fine dining. The location of the property high on the hillside ensures it is quiet with an amazing view overlooking the lake. The kitchen is listed in the Michelin guide and lived up to its reputation - we had amazing meals every time we sat down in their dining room. Thank you Petra, Peter, and all the staff for making our anniversary stay so memorable.

The place was very clean, beautiful location and very friendly staff. Calm place, you can discover vineyards by walking distance. Breakfast was good and varied. Would be happy to return some day.

We stayed for one night and opted for the cheapest room (Rozsdás) which was a mistake as it is way to small for full-sized humanoids. The 6 course tasting menu was excellent by Hungarian standards but was much stronger on trying to assimilate international influences of a decade ago than on true substance or style. Overall, if you can afford it, go for it, it's a little gem in one of Hungary's most beautiful and relaxed corners.

We were on foot so it was a bit of a hike up the hills but it was worth it. Unfortunatelly we didn't know that the restaurant was closed monday through wednesday when we booked. But the staff was very helpful. We got to taste their wines and it overall a quiet and special place.

The building is amazing both from exterior and interior, the staff is extra lovely and breakfast was delicious. We will definitely come back, so I can only recommend to those visiting Szigliget. Szigliget is also a lovely place :)
