Everything! Super clean, super cosy, and very comfortable. Me and my friend loved the bathroom and kitchen, especially the beautiful cups and teapots that are free to use by guests. We were also invited to eat a watermelon upon arrival, and who can say no to a tasty, local grown watermelon? Fantastic!

The owner is incredibly kind and sweet! He is willing to pick up your luggage from the train station if you are early, so you are able to go sightseeing without your luggage. He will also pick you up when you’re finished for the day and drop you back off at the train station when you check out. Breakfast is free if requested and is a hearty meal!

I liked that there were signs when traveling to let us know where the hotel was located. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Our room was amazing, I enjoyed the amount of space and amenities that came with it. Onsen was a great bonus. Staff were exceptional and courteous. Breakfast was also a big plus, especially eating in the lounge/food area.

The castle and restaurants are all accessible by foot. The owner was really nice and recommended a great Izakaya. I was lucky to be the only guest on the first floor so I had a very quiet night, and the futon and cushion were very comfortable.

By Japanese standards, this is an enormous unit, with amazing, nearly new kitchen, bathroom and washing facilities. We really enjoyed our stay here. Check-in went without issues, although I did have to help a few guests with their check-in as it was unclear which bunk number is assigned to you unless you check inside the mens/ladies room itself (it's written on a whiteboard on the wall). Nice comfy bed, enough walking space on the floor to place luggage and not feel that you might be blocking other guests. Lawson is right in front of it but in general the neighbourhood is very quiet even though it's just a few minutes from JR train station. We used this apartment as a home base while exploring Hakone with Hakone free pass and had excellent time. Was a lot cheaper to stay in Odawara than in Hakone and the restaurants were cheaper too. Host was very welcoming and friendly. There were all the amenities that you could need and we never had to queue to the shared bathroom or toilet. House was very quiet and bed super comfortable.
