I am a firm believer that the staff can make or break a hotel and the staff here confidently knows what they’re doing- everyone from the reception to the kitchen staff was extremely kind, helpful, and attentive. A smaller hotel so plenty of attention on the guests. Great rooms at an affordable price- and did I mention views!? Stay here if you’re in Santa Marta. We stayed at three places in the area and this was our favorite.

At the bed and breakfast, the units are equipped with bed linen and towels. The owners of this Hostal are very friendly and helped me to book my stay in Parque Nacional Tayrona. They are very flexible with changes of plans and the breakfast is delicious.

Featuring a restaurant, the property also has an outdoor swimming pool, as well as a hot tub. When staying at the guest house, guests can use private entrance. Diana is a truly amazing host! I’ve never stayed somewhere where the manager has been so friendly, welcoming and helpful before and during my stay! Thank you so much for that. The hotel is cute - really pretty and well kept gardens and a pool to use as well. The rooms are basic but you get exactly what you pay for. Would recommend to anyone who wants great value for money when visiting Tayrona park.

Villa Del Río is located near El Zaino and 6 km from Los Cocos Beach. It features free parking.

Each room here will provide you with a fan. The private bathroom also comes with a shower. You can enjoy river view from the room. The hosts are very kind and helpful! We left our luggage there before going into Tayrona park for a night. After we spend two days in the park we came back and they had the room and luggage ready for us. It's very close to El Zaino entrance and the bus to/from Palomino and Santa Marta comes by every few minutes. Swimming pool was very nice to cool down. Overall very relaxed!

Posada Villa Margarita in Santa Marta, just 5 km from the Tayrona National Park, offers an on-site restaurant which features a free daily continental breakfast, a hammock-filled garden and free parking. We’ve been traveling through South America for 1 year and Posada Villa Margarita has been our favorite stay. The place is absolutely magical. It is a family owned posada with an amazing familial atmosphere and the kindest staff that make you feel immediately at home. We ate delicious homemade meals and pastries during our stay. The room was stunning, with a view that looks like a painting. Bed was very comfy and lots of pillows! We stayed in the Mirador de la Sierra room which had a beautiful private balcony and hammock. There is a beautiful pool onsite that overlooks the ocean and mountains, we spent lots of time here! Access to the beach is very easy, a short walk on a stunning plant-filled boardwalk. The closest beach has a great local atmosphere and rarely gets crowded. There are a couple restaurants there with some tasty food and rentable chairs to lounge on if you wish to spend a day at the beach! Access to the bus that takes you to Tayrona, and even further into Palomino is very easy. Perfect for day trips into the park or further down the coast! We had booked one week, and ended up extending for another. Wish we could’ve stayed longer! Couldn’t think of a better way to come experience this part of Colombia.
