We were given an upgrade to one of the two bedrooms with a balcony. We had previously stayed in the other one with the raised four poster bed. Superb rooms and so lovely to be able to sit outside and watch the world go by in this beautiful village. You walk out of the door to a number of bars cafes and restaurants. Two minutes from the bus stop which is just £2 per journey which makes getting around even easier and opens up more walk without having to end up back at the village.

The hotel is opposite the Wordsworth’s visitor center which is definitely worth visiting. The location of the hotel is excellent, Grasmere village is very picturesque, I particularly liked the caffe Mathilda which serves European style cakes and very good coffee.
