Really great hotel. Katy was really lovely and always on hand to help with anything at all. She is an absolute credit to the place. Our room had an amazing view of the lake and a huge balcony. The pool was great and never crowded. The walk into Malcesine was a bit tiring in the heat but there is a bus from right outside the hotel if you don't want to walk. We got the bus back twice during our stay which was great. There is also a lovely restaurant right outside the gates which was really handy and another place 5 mins away, Speck Stube which was a grill house with huge outside area, great atmosphere, was brilliant for a drink. We originally only booked 4 nights here but ended up adding another 3 nights on as we loved it so much. Safe underground parking available too. Massive well done Katy and the team.

It was such a pleasure to stay at Casa San Nicolo. One of our best over many years. The apartment is new, exceptionally clean, spacious and when you walk onto the balcony be prepared for the most spectacular views over Lago de Garda. The changing moods of the lake and the mountains are hypnotic. It is an easy 5 to 10 minute walk into the heart of old Malcesine. And Lorena and her family are friendly, helpful and amazing hosts.

It takes about 25 minutes to walk to the town. It is not a very steep walk back but can be a bit of a challenge in the heat. There is parking for one car but the entrance to the parking spot is very tight so it would be a challenge for an unconfident driver!

You definitely need a car for its location! We hiked down to the village several times and the hike back up is quite steep. It’s beautiful and worth it if you are able. The accommodation is very much a self-cater. Nothing is provided (shampoo, soap, washing detergent, etc). We will definitely be back!
