It was amazing, in a perfect location right in the heart of the hip, tourist area of Matsumoto, with excellent facilities and a great chill lounge. The owners were super friendly and run a café/bar downstairs. Plus, there is free (real, high quality) coffee available all the time.

Excellent location for visiting Kamikochi and for climbing Mount Yake Dake. They offer a free shuttle drop off at Kamikochi in the morning and the trail for mount Yake Dake leaves from the hotel. Climbing the Mount Yake Dake volcano is a must-do experience! The views from up there are stunning and you can also see the whole Kamikochi Valley. If you have time, do also go to the Shinhotaka Ropeway and Hida Folk Village.
